What You’ll Be Doing (position summary):

We are seeking an experienced Application Developer ETL with a robust foundation in modern data engineering practices to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines on the Databricks platform hosted on Azure.

How You’ll Succeed (responsibilities):

- Architect and implement data pipelines following the Medallion (Bronze/Silver/Gold) architecture
- Ingest data from diverse sources including APIs, flat files, binary files, and Databricks-to-Databricks transfers using Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 (ADLS Gen2)
- Apply data modeling techniques including Data Vault 2.0 and Kimball Dimensional Modeling
- Implement a Data Quality Framework to enforce data integrity and reliability standards
- Handle complex data scenarios such as SCD Type 2, late-arriving data, carry-forward logic, backfill, reprocess, and restatement
- Build ETL control and audit frameworks for lineage, monitoring, and traceability
- Develop and optimize Delta Lake tables leveraging ACID transactions, Z-ordering, and OPTIMIZE for performance
- Build real-time data pipelines using Structured Streaming for low-latency ingestion and processing
- Orchestrate and schedule pipeline workflows using Databricks Workflows (Jobs)
- Tune Spark jobs through query optimization, partitioning strategies, and cluster/compute sizing
- Enforce data security policies including Row-Level Security (RLS), Column-Level Security (CLS), and data masking
- Manage data governance and access control using Unity Catalog.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

- Partner with data engineering, platform, and architecture teams to design and implement scalable data pipelines aligned to enterprise data architecture standards, supporting ingestion from a broad range of internal and external data sources.
- Collaborate with data modelers, business stakeholders, and domain subject-matter experts to apply leading data modeling practices, establish data quality standards, and address complex data scenarios including historical tracking, late-arriving data, backfill, reprocessing, and restatement requirements.
- Work closely with platform operations, governance, and information security teams to optimize data processing performance, orchestrate production workflows,



and enforce enterprise controls for lineage, monitoring, traceability, access management, and data security.

JOB DIMENSIONS:

- Individual contributor role focused on designing and delivering scalable data pipeline and processing solutions that support enterprise reporting, analytics, and operational decision-making.
- Works across multiple data domains and source types; responsible for transforming raw data into reliable, well-structured, and governed data assets that enable trusted consumption for downstream use.
- Acts as a key partner to engineering, business, governance, and risk stakeholders on data modeling, data quality, lineage, and control requirements to strengthen usability, compliance, and overall data integrity.

Experience: 5+ years of experience

Who You Are (skills/qualifications):

- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field.

Must Have Skills:

- 5+ years of experience as an application developer with the following skills:
- Hands-on experience with Medallion architecture on Azure (ADLS Gen2)
- Strong proficiency in PySpark and Databricks SQL
- Deep knowledge of Delta Lake (ACID transactions, Z-ordering, incremental processing)
- Expertise in Structured Streaming for real-time pipeline development
- Proficiency with Databricks Workflows (Jobs) for orchestration and scheduling
- Experience with Spark Declarative Pipelines (Lake flow / formerly Delta Live Tables)
- Advanced Spark performance tuning, partitioning, caching, compute sizing
- Deep knowledge of Data Vault 2.0 and Kimball Dimensional Modeling
- Solid understanding of Unity Catalog for data governance and security
- Expertise in exception handling and data quality enforcement
- Familiarity with Genie Space for natural language data exploration.
