Role Description The Anaesthetist will provide comprehensive anesthesia care to patients undergoing cardiac and related surgical procedures, ensuring protected preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative management. Day-to-day responsibilities include pre-anesthesia assessment, planning and administering general and regional anesthesia, monitoring patients during procedures, and managing pain and critical care needs in collaboration with cardiologists and surgeons. The role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams in cardiac operation theaters and catheterization labs, adhering to hospital protocols,



quality standards, and ethical practices.

This is a full-time, on-site role based at N. M.

Wadia

Institute of Cardiology in the Pune Division, requiring presence for scheduled surgeries, emergency procedures, and on-call duties. The Anaesthetist is expected to contribute to continuous improvement in patient safety, clinical outcomes, and evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in Anesthesiology and General Anesthesia for cardiac and related surgical procedures.
- Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Medicine and Critical Care Medicine for managing high-risk and critically ill cardiac patients.
- Candidates should possess relevant experience supporting Surgery, particularly cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology procedures.
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS) and postgraduate qualification in Anesthesiology (e.g., MD/DNB) from an accredited institution.
- Valid medical registration/license to practice, with compliance to local regulatory and credentialing requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work in high-acuity environments, make timely clinical decisions, and manage emergencies.
- Effective communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
- Commitment to ethical medical practice, patient safety, continuous learning, and participation in clinical audits or quality initiatives.
