QA Engineer:

- 3–6 years in software quality engineering, including2+ years building test automation for modern web applications and APIs.

ROLE SUMMARY:

We're looking for a QA Engineer who treats quality as an engineering discipline, not a final checkpoint. You'll own test strategy and automation across our React/TypeScript frontend and Python/FastAPI backend services, including AI-powered workflows. You'll build quick, creliable test suites that run in CI on every change.



You'll work with engineer sand product from requirements through release so issues are caught early and shipping stays safe and fast.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Test strategy & planning:

- Own test strategy and test plans for features end to end (UI, API, data and integrations), with risk-based coverage and clear acceptance criteria agreed with product and engineering.
- Take part in design and refinement sessions to shift quality left: review requirements and PRs for testability and edge cases.
- Report release readiness and track quality metrics: escaped defects, automation coverage, flake rate and pipeline duration.

Automation:

- Design, build and maintain UI automation in Playwright (TypeScript), using fixtures, Page Object Model, parallel execution, sharding and trace viewer debugging.
- Maintain existing Selenium WebDriver suites and migrate them to Playwright where it makes sense.
- Build API and integration test suites for REST/FastAPI services with PyTest, Playwright API testing, Postman/Newman or REST Assured. Validate schemas, auth, error handling and contracts.
- Validate data in PostgreSQL, caching behaviour in Redis, and async/queue-based workflows. Build reliable test-data setup and teardown.
- Mock dependencies and third-party services using MSW, Wiremock or Playwright network interception.

CI/CD & environments:

- Integrate test suites into CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Jenkins)with PR gating, parallel runs and clear reporting (Allure, Playwright HTML reports).
- Run tests in containerized environments using Docker/Docker Compose and ephemeral review environments on Kubernetes.
- Hunt down and fix flaky tests: root-cause failures and improve locators, waits and test isolation.

Non-functional & AI quality:

- Run performance and load tests with k6, JMeter or Locust, and set performance baselines.
- Cover cross-browser and device testing (BrowserStack, Lambda Test or Sauce Labs), visual regression (Playwright snapshots, Percy or Applitools) and accessibility (axe-core, Lighthouse, WCAG 2.2).




- Test AI/LLM-powered features: build evaluation data sets and check output quality, consistency, hallucinations, guardrails and regressions with tools such as Prompt foo, DeepEval or Ragas.
- Use AI-assisted testing tools (GitHub Copilot, Playwright codegen/MCP, AI test generation) to speed up test authoring while keeping suites maintainable.

Defect management:

- Do structured exploratory testing and log clear, reproducible bugs in Jira with steps, logs, screenshots and traces. Follow them through to closure.

MUST-HAVE:

Test automation:

- 3+years of hands-onUI automation, with strong Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript) skills and working experience with Selenium WebDriver (Python).
- Strong coding skills in TypeScript/JavaScript and/or Python. Writes clean, maintainable test code using Page Object Model, fixtures and data-driven patterns.
- Solid API testing: REST, HTTP, JSON and auth (OAuth2/JWT) using PyTest/requests, Postman/Newman or REST Assured.
- Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLabCI or Jenkins) with parallel execution and reporting.

QA fundamentals:

- Strong grasp of functional, regression, smoke, integration, end-to-end, exploratory and UAT testing, and of test design techniques (boundary values, equivalence partitioning, decision tables).
- Experience writing test plans, test cases and high-quality bug reports in Agile/Scrum teams using Jira and a test management tool (TestRail, Xray or Zephyr).
- Working SQL for data validation (PostgreSQL preferred).
- Comfortable with Git, code reviews, browser DevTools, network inspection and log-based debugging.
- Docker basics, plus hands-on experience with at least one performance testing tool (k6, JMeteror Locust).

Collaboration:

- Clear written and verbal communication. Advocates for quality with engineers, product and design.
- Takes ownership of quality outcomes, balances speed with risk, and helps teammates adopt good automation practices.

Cypress, WebdriverIO, Appium (mobile), contract testing with Pact, visual regression (Percy, Applitools), accessibility testing (axe-core, WCAG 2.2), BrowserStack/Lambda Test, LLM evaluation tools (Prompt foo, DeepEval, Ragas), Kubernetes, observability (Grafana, Sentry, OpenTelemetry), security testing basics (OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite), ISTQB certification.
