Role Description This is a full time, on-site Accountant role based in Kolkata, West Bengal. The Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting operations, including recording financial transactions, maintaining ledgers, and reconciling accounts.

Responsibilities include preparing invoices, tracking receivables and payables, supporting payroll processing, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities. The role involves preparing financial reports, supporting audits,



ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and tax regulations, and coordinating with internal teams and external partners. The Accountant will also contribute to process improvements, maintain accurate documentation, and support management with financial data for decision-making.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, and financial reporting.
- Experience with accounting and proficiency in MS Excel and other office productivity tools.
- Understanding of Indian taxation, GST, TDS, and compliance requirements relevant to shipping, logistics, or related industries.
- Ability to perform account reconciliations, manage payables and receivables, and support budgeting and cost-control activities.
- Excellent numerical aptitude, attention to detail, and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with operations, finance, and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CA Inter, CMA) are an advantage.
- 2-3 years of prior experience in shipping, logistics, or international trade environments is preferred.
