Accountant / Accounts Manager

New York Burrito Company is a fast-growing Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) brand known for fresh, authentic Mexican-inspired cuisine with a 100% vegetarian menu. We currently operate across 12 outlets in Mumbai and are expanding our operations.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and responsible Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting activities and support the financial operations of the organisation at HO located at Charni Road, Mumbai

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day accounting and financial transactions.
- Record and post cash, bank, sales, purchase, receipt and payment entries accurately and on a timely basis.
- Monitor and maintain proper cash flow records and ensure timely recording of cash transactions.
- Handle cash receipts, cash payments and daily cash reconciliation.
- Reconcile cash, bank, card and online payment transactions with accounting records.
- Maintain accurate books of accounts, ledgers, vouchers and supporting documents.
- Verify and process purchase invoices, expense bills and other accounting documents.
- Maintain vendor accounts and ensure timely reconciliation of outstanding balances.
- Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Prepare and maintain regular MIS and accounting reports as required.




- Assist in monthly closing activities and ensure all accounting entries are properly recorded.
- Identify accounting discrepancies and ensure timely reconciliation and resolution.
- Maintain proper documentation and records for internal review and audit requirements.
- Coordinate with relevant teams for accounting-related information and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures and financial controls.

Candidate Profile

- 5–8 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in the QSR, restaurant, hospitality, retail or FMCG industry.
- Strong knowledge of day-to-day accounting, journal entries, cash and bank entries, reconciliations, payables and receivables.
- Good understanding of cash flow and cash management.
- Experience in handling high-volume transactions will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software such as Tally / ERP.
- Good numerical, analytical and reconciliation skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines in a fast-paced business workplace.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Candidates with experience in a QSR or restaurant environment will be preferred.
