We are looking for an Academic Counsellor who can manage student enquiries and convert prospective learners into course enrollments. The role involves counselling students and working professionals about IT courses while understanding their career goals and recommending suitable programs.
The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills and a sales-oriented approach with experience in education counselling or training institute admissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle student enquiries received through phone calls, WhatsApp, website forms and other lead channels.
- Understand the student's educational background and career goals to recommend relevant IT courses.
- Conduct course counselling sessions and explain course curriculum, duration, fees, class schedule, projects and placement support.
- Follow up with prospective students regularly and convert qualified leads into admissions.
- Maintain accurate lead and follow-up details in the CRM.
- Achieve monthly enquiry conversion and admission targets.
- Handle objections related to course fees, duration,
online learning and career opportunities.
- Coordinate with trainers and academic teams to provide accurate course information.
- Maintain strong relationships with prospective students throughout the admission process.
- Track daily enquiries and follow-ups while preparing basic sales reports.
- Participate in promotional activities such as webinars, counselling sessions and online orientation programs.
Required Skills
- 2–3 years of experience in academic counselling, education sales, inside sales or a similar role.
- Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong convincing and negotiation abilities.
- Experience handling inbound and outbound student enquiries.
- Valuable understanding of sales follow-ups and lead conversion.
- Comfortable communicating with students and working professionals through phone and online channels.
- Ability to work with monthly admission and revenue targets.
