We are looking for an experienced 2nd Engineer to join an 8,500 GRT Tanker Vessel. The candidate should have relevant tanker vessel experience along with a valid White COC or Panama COC.
The 2nd Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the overall management and protected operation of the vessel's engine department, ensuring reliable operation and maintenance of the main engine, auxiliary machinery and other engine-room equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Chief Engineer in managing daily engine-room operations.
- Supervise and coordinate engine-room maintenance activities.
- Operate, monitor and maintain main engines and auxiliary machinery.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance as per the Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
- Monitor machinery performance and identify technical issues.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and operational problems.
- Ensure proper maintenance of pumps, generators, compressors and other auxiliary equipment.
- Maintain engine-room logs, maintenance records and required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, ISM Code and applicable maritime regulations.
- Follow all onboard safety, environmental and emergency procedures.
- Assist during inspections, surveys and audits as required.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards in the engine room.
- Coordinate effectively with the Chief Engineer and other engine-room crew members.
