As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying component and assembly design changes that reduce material cost, labor, and production issues. You will play a key role in scoping, developing, analyzing, and evaluating production design change projects. This position requires coordination of all pre-production activities and approvals for each project.Responsibilities- Identify opportunities for optimizing material cost, labor, and production efficiency through component and assembly design changes.- Pressure control, valve control, and fluid control knowledge and a plus.- Knowledge of the food and beverage industry is a plus.- Take the lead in scoping, developing, analyzing, and evaluating production design change projects.- Coordinate pre-production activities and secure necessary approvals for each project.- Analyze field service call data to identify root causes of quality issues and develop effective solutions.- Implement bill of material changes, drawing modifications, new part drawings,
and new model numbers for the production team.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth implementation of design changes and achieve targeted cost reductions.- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for new products and product modifications.- Obtain approvals for all new parts and product changes following established procedures.- Foster technical expertise within the product line and provide support to other teams as required.- Travel is required up to 25%.Qualifications- Strong written and verbal communication skills.- Exceptional time management abilities.- Demonstrated self-motivation, leadership skills, and a hands-on approach.- Proficient in multitasking and making decisive, swift issue resolutions.- Skilled in identifying and resolving production line issues.- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours to meet business demands.
