About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Technical Developer / Lead with deep expertise in IBM Integration Bus (IIB) and Java Spring Boot microservices to lead a large-scale modernization program. You will own design decisions, technical governance, and hands-on development while guiding the team in migrating IIB message flows to microservices hosted on Red Hat OpenShift.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the end-to-end technical migration from IIB to Spring Boot microservices
- Define and own the migration strategy, target architecture, and design patterns
- Conduct impact analysis of existing IIB message flows and translate them into microservices architecture
- Drive technical discussions with onshore/client teams and stakeholders
- Establish coding standards, best practices, and code review guidelines
- Provide hands-on development for complex and critical components
- Mentor and guide developers, and ensure consistent delivery quality
- Design and implement integration patterns (routing, transformation, orchestration, error handling, retries)
- Build and deploy containerized services on Red Hat OpenShift
- Set up and support CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment
- Ensure performance, scalability, security, and resilience of migrated services
- Define testing strategy, including regression and parity testing against legacy IIB flows
- Track risks, dependencies, and progress, and report to stakeholders

Required Qualifications

- 8-12 years of IT experience, with 5+ years of hands-on IBM IIB / ACE (message flows, ESQL, Java compute nodes)
- 4+ years of Java (8/11/17)



and Spring Boot microservices development
- Proven experience leading or contributing to IIB-to-microservices migration or similar modernization projects
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, SOAP, XML, JSON, XSD/XSLT
- Experience with IBM MQ and messaging patterns (JMS, Kafka preferred)
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Red Hat OpenShift
- Experience with Spring Cloud, Spring Security, Spring Data
- Strong understanding of microservices design patterns (API Gateway, Circuit Breaker, Saga, CQRS)
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Tekton, or OpenShift Pipelines)
- Solid communication skills with experience engaging onshore/client stakeholders
- Experience leading teams and conducting technical reviews

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with banking or payments integration (ISO 20022, CPA005, IBM FTM)
- Knowledge of Apache Camel or Spring Integration
- Experience with observability tools (Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Familiarity with Helm, ArgoCD, or GitOps practices
- Experience with DB2 / SQL databases
- Agile/Scrum experience; JIRA and GitHub proficiency
- Red Hat OpenShift or Spring certification
