General Manager – Hotel Operations & Banquet Sales

Aavana Inn — Hotel & Banquet is looking for an experienced, dynamic, and highly hands-on General Manager with strong expertise in Banquet Sales, Hotel Operations, and Business Development.

The ideal candidate should be capable of taking complete ownership of the property while playing a leading role in generating banquet business, converting enquiries into confirmed events, building corporate and social event clientele, and maximizing overall hotel revenue.

This position requires a hospitality professional who is equally robust in sales and operations and can successfully manage the hotel's day-to-day functioning while driving the growth of the banquet business.

Key ResponsibilitiesBanquet Sales & Business Development

- Take complete responsibility for Banquet Sales and Revenue Generation.
- Generate new banquet enquiries through corporate clients, event planners, wedding planners, social events, and other business channels.
- Actively convert enquiries into confirmed bookings.
- Conduct client meetings and property/site visits professionally.
- Prepare and present banquet packages and proposals according to client requirements.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms while maintaining profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, wedding planners, and repeat customers.
- Develop strategies to increase banquet bookings, occupancy, and overall event revenue.
- Follow up regularly on all sales leads and ensure maximum conversion.
- Monitor the banquet enquiry pipeline and booking calendar.
- Identify opportunities for weddings, birthdays, corporate events, conferences, social gatherings, and other functions.
- Work with management to create attractive banquet packages, promotional offers, and sales strategies.
- Ensure monthly banquet sales targets are achieved.

Hotel Operations

- Oversee the complete day-to-day operations of the hotel.
- Ensure smooth functioning of Front Office, Housekeeping, Banquet Operations, Maintenance, and support departments.
- Maintain high standards of guest service, cleanliness, hospitality, safety, and overall property presentation.
- Ensure rooms, public areas, banquet spaces, and facilities are maintained properly.




- Handle guest complaints and operational issues efficiently.
- Ensure a consistently professional experience for hotel guests and banquet clients.

Banquet Operations & Event Execution

- Coordinate closely with clients and internal teams to ensure successful execution of all events.
- Ensure banquet commitments made during the sales process are properly communicated to the operations team.
- Monitor event planning, setup, service standards, and client satisfaction.
- Personally oversee important events and functions when required.
- Coordinate with decorators, caterers, DJs, vendors, and other event partners.
- Ensure smooth coordination between the Sales and Operations teams.

Team Leadership & Management

- Lead, train, and manage hotel and banquet staff.
- Ensure proper discipline, grooming, attendance, and professional behaviour.
- Conduct regular staff briefings and operational meetings.
- Build a strong culture of accountability, service excellence, and sales performance.
- Ensure all departments work efficiently and coordinate effectively.

Revenue, Cost Control & Performance

- Monitor hotel occupancy, room rates, banquet revenue, and overall business performance.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue from rooms, banquets, food and beverage, and additional services.
- Monitor operational expenses and control unnecessary costs.
- Ensure proper utilization of manpower and operational resources.
- Work closely with management on revenue targets, profitability, and business growth.

Vendor & Property Management

- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
- Ensure timely availability of operational supplies and services.
- Monitor vendor performance and maintain quality standards.
- Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of the entire property.

SOPs, Reporting & Compliance

- Develop and implement professional Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)



for hotel and banquet operations.
- Prepare regular sales and operational reports for management.
- Monitor banquet enquiries, conversions, confirmed bookings, and revenue performance.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, safety standards, and statutory requirements.

Candidate Requirements

- 5–10 years of relevant experience in the hotel, hospitality, or banquet industry.
- Strong and proven experience in Banquet Sales and Business Development is mandatory.
- Previous experience as a General Manager, Hotel Manager, Operations Manager, Banquet Sales Manager, Resident Manager, or Assistant General Manager will be preferred.
- Proven ability to generate banquet business and convert sales enquiries into confirmed bookings.
- Strong network with corporate clients, event planners, wedding planners, and event-related businesses will be an advantage.
- Excellent sales, negotiation, communication, and client-handling skills.
- Strong knowledge of hotel and banquet operations.
- Experience managing teams and handling day-to-day property operations.
- Good understanding of hotel revenue, banquet pricing, profitability, and cost control.
- Comfortable working in a target-driven and hands-on environment.
- Basic knowledge of hotel PMS/software, MS Office, reporting, and sales tracking.

We are looking for a business-driven hospitality leader, not just an operations manager.

The ideal candidate should be someone who can bring banquet business, generate leads, meet clients, close deals, achieve sales targets, and ensure excellent execution of every event—while simultaneously maintaining smooth and professional hotel operations.

The General Manager will take ownership of both the growth and operational success of Aavana Inn — Hotel & Banquet and play a key role in establishing the property as a preferred destination for banquets, social events, corporate functions, and comfortable hotel stays in East Delhi.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Delhi: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Education:

- Higher Secondary(12th Pass) (Required)

Experience:

- Banquet: 3 years (Required)
