Role Overview

We are looking for a Software Sales Intern to support domestic client acquisition and business development at Datasoft Technologies.

You will research potential customers, handle enquiries, understand business requirements, coordinate demonstrations, and support proposals and follow-ups. Working with our sales and technical teams, you will gain practical experience across the complete software sales cycle.

This role suits someone who enjoys business conversations, takes ownership of follow-ups, and wants to build a career in B2B technology sales.

Key Responsibilities1. Understand DST’s Services and Products

- Develop a working understanding of Datasoft Technologies’ development services and software solutions.
- Learn the business use cases for products such as PAYLAP HRMS, Paylap Fitness, and Apna Invoice.
- Understand the difference between selling a ready-to-use product, a SaaS subscription, a customization, and a custom development project.
- Explain relevant features and business benefits clearly, using approved presentations and product information.

2. Research and Generate Domestic Leads

- Identify potential customers across India, including startups, SMEs, and established businesses.
- Research relevant industries, including education, fitness, travel, retail, professional services, and other businesses with software needs.
- Identify decision-makers such as founders, business owners, HR managers, operations managers, and IT heads.
- Build targeted prospect lists using company websites, LinkedIn, business directories, referrals, and approved lead sources.
- Conduct outreach through calls, emails, LinkedIn, and approved business communication channels.

3. Handle Client Enquiries

- Respond promptly and professionally to enquiries about DST’s products and services.
- Communicate with domestic clients in English and Hindi, depending on their preference.
- Understand the client’s business, current challenges, and reason for exploring a solution.
- Schedule discovery meetings, product demos, and technical discussions.
- Document conversations and maintain a clear next action for each active enquiry.

4. Qualify Leads and Gather Requirements

- Capture the client’s required features, intended users, existing systems, budget range, and expected timeline.
- Identify whether the requirement fits an existing DST product or needs custom development.

- Understand the decision-making process, key stakeholders, and purchasing readiness.
- Prepare a concise requirement summary for the sales and technical teams.
- Coordinate technical questions with the appropriate team before confirming feasibility, integrations, hosting, or delivery commitments.

5. Support Presentations and Demonstrations

- Prepare relevant company introductions, service presentations, and product demonstration material.
- Assist in presenting DST’s capabilities and suitable solutions.
- Connect product features to practical business needs, such as attendance management, billing, bookings, assessments, or operational reporting.
- Record client feedback, questions, and requested changes.
- Share meeting notes and agreed next steps with the relevant team members.

6. Coordinate Proposals and Quotations

- Work with technical and management teams to obtain scope details, estimates, and proposed timelines.
- Assist in preparing proposals and quotations using DST’s approved formats.
- Ensure proposals clearly describe deliverables, exclusions, payment milestones, hosting arrangements, and support terms where applicable.
- Track proposal versions and ensure the client receives the correct approved document.
- Obtain approval before communicating discounts, revised pricing, or additional commitments.

7. Manage Follow-ups and Support Closure

- Maintain consistent follow-ups for enquiries, demonstrations, and proposals.
- Understand objections related to cost, functionality, timelines, or support.
- Answer routine commercial questions using approved information and escalate complex discussions.
- Support senior team members during negotiations and deal closure.
- Coordinate acceptance documentation, invoicing requests, and agreed payment follow-ups.
- Record reasons for delayed or lost deals to support improvements in targeting and communication.

8. Coordinate Client Handover

- Prepare a handover note covering the agreed scope, client contacts, commercial terms, expectations, and outstanding questions.
- Coordinate with the project team to arrange the kickoff after internal confirmation.
- Ensure commitments made during the sales process are documented.
- Route implementation and support enquiries to the responsible team.
- Identify opportunities for referrals, renewals, and additional services under the guidance of the reporting manager.

9. Maintain DST’s BMS and Sales Records

- Update leads, client and company details, opportunity stages, meeting notes, and follow-up dates in DST’s BMS or designated sales system.
- Maintain accurate records of proposals and commercial discussions.
