Department Manager – Ladies Handbags & LuggageJob Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Department Manager to manage the Ladies Handbags & Luggage department. The candidate will be responsible for achieving sales targets, leading the sales team, maintaining inventory and visual merchandising standards, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving overall department performance.

Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Performance

- Achieve and exceed daily, monthly, and annual department sales targets.
- Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to increase revenue.
- Drive upselling, cross-selling, and conversion within the department.
- Track key sales metrics such as sales per day, average transaction value, and conversion.
- Plan and execute promotional activities in coordination with management.
- Monitor competitors, market trends, customer preferences, and new product developments.

Team Management

- Lead, supervise, and motivate the department sales team.
- Allocate daily responsibilities and sales targets among team members.
- Conduct regular team briefings and communicate sales priorities.
- Monitor individual employee performance and provide coaching and feedback.
- Train staff on product knowledge, customer handling, selling techniques, and company policies.
- Maintain discipline, attendance, grooming, and professional standards within the team.

Customer Service

- Ensure customers receive a high-quality and personalized shopping experience.
- Handle escalated customer complaints and resolve issues professionally.
- Assist the team in dealing with high-value or demanding customers.
- Build customer relationships and encourage repeat purchases.





Product & Inventory Management

- Maintain appropriate stock levels and ensure timely replenishment.
- Monitor fast-moving, slow-moving, and non-moving products.
- Coordinate with the inventory/store team for stock transfers and replenishment.
- Ensure proper receiving, tagging, storage, and display of products.
- Conduct and support regular stock counts and inventory audits.
- Minimize stock discrepancies, damages, and losses.

Visual Merchandising

- Ensure handbags, luggage, travel bags, backpacks, wallets, and accessories are displayed attractively.
- Maintain proper product arrangement according to brand and company guidelines.
- Ensure promotional and recent-arrival displays are updated regularly.
- Maintain high standards of department cleanliness and presentation.

Reporting & Administration

- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
- Analyze department performance and share insights with management.
- Monitor target achievement and prepare action plans for underperforming areas.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, billing procedures, security guidelines, and store policies.
- Coordinate with management, inventory, billing, and other departments for smooth operations.

Candidate Requirements

- Graduate preferred; candidates with relevant retail experience may also be considered.




- 3–6 years of retail experience, preferably in handbags, luggage, fashion, lifestyle, accessories, or a similar category.
- Minimum 1–2 years of team-handling or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong sales and customer-service skills.
- Good leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of retail operations and inventory management.
- Target-oriented with good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and POS/retail systems.
- Well-groomed, confident, and professional personality.
- Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and during peak retail periods.
