Job Title: Clinical Physiotherapist / Staff Physiotherapist / Consultant Physiotherapist
Location: Kozhikode (Calicut), Kerala (or adaptable to Hospital / Clinic / Home-care setup)
Job Type: Full-time / Part time
Department: Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation / Outpatient Clinic / Inpatient Care
Experience Required: 0 – 3+ Years (Freshers with internship completion & experienced candidates welcome)
Educational Qualification: BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) or MPT (Master of Physiotherapy)
Salary: ₹20,000 – ₹35,000+ / month (Commensurate with qualification, experience & clinical setup) + Performance Incentives
Job Overview
We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and skilled Physiotherapist to evaluate patients with physical impairments, musculoskeletal disorders, neurological conditions, or post-operative mobility issues, and design tailored rehabilitation programs to restore function, relieve pain, and enhance quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Assessment & Diagnosis
Conduct comprehensive initial physical evaluations, including range of motion (ROM), manual muscle testing (MMT), posture, gait analysis, balance, and pain grading.
Review medical records, surgical notes, X-rays, MRI scans, and physician referrals to formulate accurate physical therapy diagnoses.
Design and execute evidence-based, goal-oriented, and individualized rehabilitation treatment plans.
2. Therapeutic Interventions & Modalities
Manual Therapy: Perform joint mobilization, soft tissue release, myofascial release, muscle energy techniques (MET), and trigger point therapy.
Electrotherapy & Physical Modalities: Safely administer modalities including UST (Ultrasound Therapy), IFT (Interferential Therapy), TENS, Traction (Cervical/Lumbar),
Hot/Cold packs, and Laser therapy.
Exercise Prescription: Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, core strengthening, stretching, neuromuscular re-education, postural correction, and aerobic conditioning.
Specialized Rehabilitation:
Orthopedic / Musculoskeletal: Pre- and post-operative joint replacement (TKR/THR), ligament reconstruction (ACL/PCL), spine care (cervical/lumbar spondylosis, disc herniation), and sports injury rehab.
Neurological: Stroke / hemiplegia rehabilitation, Parkinson’s disease management, spinal cord injury rehab, and balance/gait retraining.
Cardiopulmonary & ICU: Chest physiotherapy, airway clearance techniques, breathing exercises, and early mobilization for bedridden or post-surgical patients.
Geriatric Care: Fall prevention programs, osteoarthritis management, and functional independence training for elderly patients.
3. Patient Education & Progress Monitoring
Educate patients and their family members/caregivers on home exercise programs (HEP), ergonomic work modifications, posture hygiene, and assistive device usage (crutches, walkers, braces).
Regularly re-assess patient progress, document functional outcomes, and modify treatment protocols as recovery milestones are met.
Maintain clean, organized treatment cubicles and ensure proper sanitation and maintenance of therapy equipment.
Required Qualifications & Skills

Education & Licensure
Education: BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) (4.5-year regular degree including mandatory 6-month clinical rotatory internship) or MPT (Master of Physiotherapy) in Ortho / Neuro / Sports / Cardio-pulmonary.
Registration: Membership/registration with the Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP) or state paramedical/allied health council.
2. Clinical Experience
Open to fresh BPT graduates with strong internship credentials, as well as experienced practitioners with 1 to 3+ years of clinical/hospital experience.
Prior experience in hospital inpatient (IPD), outpatient department (OPD), or dedicated rehabilitation clinics is an added advantage.
3. Key Competencies & Soft Skills
Strong clinical reasoning, diagnostic acumen, and hands-on manual therapy skills.
Empathetic bedside manner, active listening, and motivational communication skills to keep patients engaged in their recovery.
Good physical stamina to assist and position patients safely during mobilization and gait training.
Languages: Fluent in Malayalam and English (essential for local patient communication and case documentation).
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: ₹20,000 – ₹35,000 / month (based on BPT vs. MPT, experience, and clinical setting).
