Nutraceutical & Food Products | FSSAI Compliance & Advisory

We are seeking a retired or former officer from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India

(FSSAI) to join as a Regulatory Advisor for our growing Nutraceutical and Food Products business.

This role is focused on ensuring 100% regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and zero-risk

operations across all product lines.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Role Regulatory Advisor — FSSAI Compliance(Nutraceuticals & Food

Products)

Engagement Type Advisory / Retainer / Part-time / Full-time (Flexible)

Eligibility Retired / Former FSSAI or equivalent regulatory body officer

Experience Required Minimum 10 years in food/nutraceutical regulation

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Regulatory Oversight

- Provide expert guidance on all FSSAI regulations, amendments, and updates

- Review product categories, formulations, and compliance frameworks

- Ensure all business operations align with current food safety laws and regulatory requirements

2. Product & Label Approval

- Final authority for approving/rejecting:

- Product formulations

- Ingredient usage & dosage

- Packaging and label claims

- Identify potential compliance risks before product launch

3. Audit & Inspection Readiness

- Prepare the company for FSSAI inspections, third-party audits





Conduct internal compliance audits to proactively identify gaps

- Guide management on corrective actions and continuous compliance improvement

4. Vendor & Manufacturing Compliance

- Evaluate contract manufacturers for GMP and FSSAI compliance

- Ensure production align with approved formulations

- Prevent and non-compliant practices at the factory level

5. Claims & Marketing Validation

- Approve all product claims (labels, website, ads)

- Ensure scientific and regulatory backing for all communications

6. Strategic Advisory

- Guide the company on:

Regulatory-protected innovation

- Risk mitigation strategies

- Act as a compliance mentor for internal teams

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

- Former/Retired official from

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India or related regulatory body

- 10+ years experience in food/nutraceutical regulation

- Hands-on experience in inspections, licensing, and enforcement

- Strong understanding of:

- Nutraceutical regulations

- Labeling laws

- Ingredient compliance
