Job Summary
We are seeking a diligent and proactive Safety Officer to oversee risk management and occupational health protocols at our transformer manufacturing plant. In this role, you will be responsible for enforcing safety regulations, conducting regular risk assessments, and maintaining a accident-free work environment. The ideal candidate will have direct experience navigating the specific hazards of heavy machinery, electrical testing, and manufacturing environments.Key Responsibilities call for any details +91-XXXXXXXXXX
- Risk & Hazard Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate workplace hazards related to transformer assembly, including high-voltage testing, winding machinery operations, lifting heavy components (cores/coils), and chemical handling (transformer oil/varnish).
- Compliance & Auditing: Ensure all plant operations strictly comply with local, state, and national safety regulations (e.g., OSHA or equivalent labor laws). Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
- Safety Training: Design and deliver continuous safety onboarding and training modules for factory floor workers, focusing on Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and electrical safety.
- Incident Investigation: Lead the investigation of any workplace near-misses or accidents. Root cause analysis must be documented alongside corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans.
- Emergency Preparedness: Maintain and update the plant’s emergency response plans, coordinate regular fire/evacuation drills, and ensure all fire suppression and first-aid systems are fully functional.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate safety logs,
incident reports, and compliance documentation for regulatory reviews.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical) or Environmental Health and Safety (EHS).
- Certification: Certified safety professional credential (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or relevant regional safety diplomas).
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of safety officer experience specifically within a manufacturing, electrical equipment, or heavy engineering plant.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of electrical safety protocols, high-voltage testing standards, machine guarding, and hazardous material handling (transformer fluids).
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, assertive communication, and the ability to influence a culture of safety among factory technicians.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Must be comfortable spending a significant portion of the shift walking the factory floor.
- Ability to wear standard PPE for extended periods (safety shoes, helmet, high-visibility vest, safety glasses, and hearing protection).
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
