About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialist to join our growing team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing software assets across their lifecycle, ensuring licensing compliance, optimizing software utilization, and driving cost efficiencies. The role requires close collaboration with IT Operations, Procurement, Security, and Vendor Management teams to maintain an effective Software Asset Management framework.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the complete software asset lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, usage monitoring, renewals, and retirement.
- Maintain accurate software inventory, entitlement records, and licensing repositories.
- Monitor software usage and compliance to identify optimization and cost-saving opportunities.
- Conduct internal software compliance reviews and support external vendor audits.
- Interpret and manage software licensing agreements from vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, SAP, and other enterprise software providers.
- Collaborate with procurement and legal teams for software acquisitions, renewals, and contract reviews.
- Generate reports, dashboards, and compliance metrics for leadership and stakeholders.
- Develop and enhance SAM processes, policies, and governance frameworks.




- Manage and maintain SAM tools to ensure accurate asset tracking and compliance monitoring.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 5 - 8 years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), or related domains.
- Strong understanding of software licensing models including Subscription, SaaS, Volume Licensing, and Perpetual Licensing.
- Hands-on experience with SAM/ITAM tools such as ServiceNow, USU, Flexera, Snow, or similar platforms.
- Experience in software compliance management and audit support activities.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from data.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
- Exposure to process design and continuous improvement initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and Software Asset Management best practices.
- Understanding of ISO SAM standards.
- Experience in IT procurement, vendor management, and contract management.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
