FREELANCE INTERIOR DESIGNER — HYDERABAD

Kalavya Atelier is looking to collaborate with an experienced Freelance Interior Designer for our residential interior projects in Hyderabad.

We are looking for designers with a strong eye for bespoke, intricate and thoughtfully detailed interiors — someone who can independently take a project from initial concept through design development and final design closure.

Location: Hyderabad— Physical presence mandatory

Experience: 3+ years

Engagement: Freelance | Project-Based | Hybrid

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Understand client requirements, lifestyle, budget and design expectations

* Attend in-person client meetings, site visits and design discussions as required

* Conduct site studies, take accurate measurements and document existing site conditions

* Develop projects from concept to final design approval

* Prepare space planning, zoning, furniture layouts, circulation and functional design solutions

* Develop moodboards, design concepts, material palettes, colour schemes and styling directions

* Prepare detailed 2D drawings, working drawings, elevations, ceiling plans, lighting layouts, electrical layouts and furniture details

* Design custom furniture, feature elements and intricate details specific to each project

* Recommend appropriate materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, décor and soft furnishings considering aesthetics, practicality, budget and execution

* Present design concepts to clients, incorporate feedback and manage design revisions

* Coordinate with vendors, execution teams and internal team members wherever required

* Support BOQ and design-estimate discussions where necessary

* Take ownership of overall design quality, detailing and execution feasibility

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

* 3+ years of relevant experience in residential interior design

* Interior Designers, Architects or experienced Freelance Designers

* Must be currently based in Hyderabad

* Must be available for in-person client meetings, site visits and project discussions





* Strong portfolio demonstrating custom, bespoke and detail-oriented residential interiors

* Proven experience taking projects from concept development through design closure

* Strong understanding of space planning, materials, finishes, furniture design and detailing

* Strong creative thinking, design sensibility and attention to detail

* Comfortable handling client presentations, discussions and revisions

* Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects

* Good communication and coordination skills

IMPORTANT

This is NOT a standard modular-interior design role.

Our projects involve custom-designed furniture, bespoke detailing, material exploration and individually developed design concepts.

We are specifically looking for designers with hands-on experience in intricate, custom-designed and bespoke interiors.

If your portfolio primarily consists of modular kitchens, wardrobes or standardised/catalogue-based modular solutions, please do not apply.

Although this is a hybrid freelance chance, physical presence in Hyderabad is mandatory. Designers working remotely from other cities will not be considered.

COMPENSATION

Compensation will be project-based and determined based on the project value, scope and level of involvement required. The scope, responsibilities and professional fee will be discussed and mutually agreed upon before each project is assigned.
