Ltd is a leading sports infrastructure and turf engineering company in India, specializing in design, construction and maintenance of natural and artificial sports turfs, landscaping, and sports field development. The company executes turnkey projects across India including cricket grounds, football fields, golf greens, and institutional sports facilities for corporates, schools, stadiums and government bodies.

The organization operates through multi-location project sites, including golf courses and turf facilities, and requires skilled, hands-on technical staff to keep ground maintenance equipment fully operational at all times.

Role Purpose

The Mechanic will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and preventive maintenance of ground maintenance machinery and equipment deployed at various sites of ST≥ Pvt. Ltd. This role is critical to ensuring that mowers, rollers, tractors, and other turf-care equipment remain in safe, reliable, and efficient working condition to support uninterrupted ground maintenance operations. The incumbent will work closely with the Project Manager/Site Supervisor to diagnose faults, carry out repairs, plan servicing schedules, and maintain equipment records. This role demands a hands-on, mechanically skilled professional with practical experience in servicing engines, hydraulic systems, and turf-care machinery, along with a strong sense of ownership, discipline, and safety awareness.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

- Carry out day-to-day repair, servicing, and troubleshooting of ground maintenance equipment such as lawn mowers (reel and rotary), rollers, tractors, aerators, and utility vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults in equipment and undertake timely corrective action to minimise downtime.
- Sharpen and set reel/rotary mower blades and cutting units to maintain quality of cut.
- Repair and maintain engines (petrol/diesel), transmissions, brakes, hydraulic systems, and related components.
- Carry out welding, fabrication, and minor fitting work as required for equipment repair.

Preventive Maintenance & Servicing

- Follow and maintain a preventive maintenance schedule for all ground equipment, including regular oil changes, greasing, filter changes, and inspections.
- Inspect equipment before and after use to identify wear and tear, and flag issues before they cause breakdowns.
- Maintain equipment in a clean, rust-free, and operationally safe condition at all times.
- Support calibration and adjustment of mowing heights and equipment settings as per turf requirements.

Spare Parts & Inventory Management

- Maintain an updated inventory of spare parts, consumables, tools,



and lubricants required for equipment upkeep.
- Raise timely indents for spare parts and consumables to avoid equipment downtime.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and record-keeping of spare parts and workshop tools.

Safety & Compliance

- Follow safe operating and repair practices while working on equipment, including use of appropriate PPE.
- Ensure equipment guards, safety switches, and warning systems are functional at all times.
- Report any equipment-related safety hazards to the Site Supervisor/Turf Manager immediately.

Record Keeping & Reporting

- Maintain equipment maintenance logs, service history, and breakdown/repair records for each machine.
- Prepare periodic reports on equipment condition, servicing status, and spare parts consumption for the Site Supervisor/Turf Manager.
- Coordinate with the procurement team for timely replacement of parts and equipment nearing end-of-life.

Coordination with Ground/Turf Team

- Coordinate with turf/ground staff to understand daily equipment requirements and prioritise repairs accordingly.
- Provide basic operational guidance to equipment operators on correct usage to reduce avoidable wear and damage.
- Support site teams during peak maintenance periods (e.g., tournaments, pre-season preparation) to ensure equipment availability.

Candidate Profile & Preferences

- ITI (Mechanical / Diesel Mechanic / Automobile / Fitter or equivalent trade) is required; additional certification in agricultural or turf equipment maintenance is an advantage.
- Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience in repair and maintenance of ground/turf equipment such as lawn mowers, rollers, tractors, and utility vehicles.
- Prior experience working at a golf course, sports turf facility, or landscaping operation is strongly preferred.
- Practical knowledge of petrol and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and basic electrical circuits used in ground maintenance machinery.
- Ability to read and follow equipment manuals, service schedules, and basic technical drawings.
- Willingness to work early morning hours and at outdoor project/site locations, including golf courses.
- Physically fit and able to perform hands-on repair work, including lifting, bending, and working with tools for extended periods.
- Good problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to equipment upkeep.
- Basic verbal communication skills in Hindi; working knowledge of English is an advantage.
