Lead Engineer (Python / Next.js)

Location: Remote Type: Full-time | Reports to: CTO / Founder

Dubleu is a startup building an AI platform to build software and websites. We're a small team with real customers, and you'll help shape how we build from the start.

The role

We're hiring a Lead Engineer to own the technical direction of our product.

You'll ship features end to end across a Python backend and a Next.js frontend, set our engineering foundations, and help build the team as we grow. This is a hands-on role.

What you'll do

Design, build, and ship features from database to UI

Make pragmatic architecture decisions that balance speed and scalability

Own CI/CD, monitoring, deployment, and production reliability

Work directly with founders and customers to decide what to build

Mentor early engineers and help hire the next ones

What we're looking for

5-9 years of software engineering experience, ideally at an early-stage startup or as a tech lead

Strong Python (FastAPI, Django, or Flask) and Next.js / React / TypeScript





Experience with PostgreSQL, REST APIs, and cloud deployment (AWS or GCP)

Good product sense, a bias for action, and comfort with ambiguity

Clear communicator with an interest in growing into engineering leadership

Exposure to LLM integrations
