Summary:

UST is looking for an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer with expertise in GitHub Enterprise migrations and CI/CD modernization. The ideal candidate will have proven experience leading large-scale migrations from Azure DevOps (ADO), Perforce, Bitbucket, SVN, or similar SCM platforms to GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Actions. This role requires strong technical leadership, migration strategy expertise, and the ability to drive DevOps transformation initiatives while ensuring seamless adoption of contemporary software delivery practices.

The Opportunity:

As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for leading enterprise-scale source control and CI/CD migration programs, modernizing development workflows, and providing technical leadership to engineering teams. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to design migration strategies, optimize repository management, and implement scalable DevOps solutions.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

- Lead end-to-end migration of repositories and CI/CD pipelines from Azure DevOps and other SCM platforms to GitHub Enterprise.
- Design, develop, and implement GitHub Actions workflows, YAML pipeline conversions, and migration automation frameworks.
- Provide technical leadership for migration architecture, platform engineering initiatives, and DevOps best practices.
- Review solution designs, APIs, security implementations, observability frameworks, and deployment strategies.
- Collaborate with development, QA, platform, and DevOps teams to ensure successful migration execution and CI/CD validation.
- Drive repository optimization initiatives, branching strategies, permissions mapping, governance, and workflow modernization.
- Mentor engineering teams, conduct code and design reviews, and resolve complex migration and automation challenges.




- Establish standards and best practices for source control management, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
- Support infrastructure automation and cloud-native deployment strategies.
- Ensure operational excellence through monitoring, automation, security, and compliance adherence.

Experience:

- 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Software Engineering.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience leading GitHub Enterprise migration initiatives.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale SCM and CI/CD modernization projects.
- Experience working in enterprise-scale Agile delivery environments.

Technical Requirements:

- Strong expertise in GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Actions.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps Repos and Azure DevOps Pipelines.
- Experience migrating repositories and pipelines from Perforce, Bitbucket, SVN, or similar SCM platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Git, branching strategies, repository administration, and version control best practices.
- Expertise in CI/CD pipeline migration, YAML workflow conversion, and secrets management.
- Experience using GitHub APIs, Azure DevOps REST APIs, and migration automation tooling.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong understanding of Docker and Kubernetes-based deployment environments.
- Experience developing automation solutions using Python and Shell scripting.
- Knowledge of DevOps security, observability, monitoring, and deployment best practices.

Qualification:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
