Job Description – R&D; Chemist

Department: R&D;Position: R&D; Chemist – Purification & Process DevelopmentQualification: M.Sc. Chemistry / Organic Chemistry / Pharmaceutical ChemistryExperience: 2–3 years in R&D; / Process Development / Purification

Key Responsibilities

● Develop and optimize purification processes from laboratory to plant scale.

● Follow STPs, GTPs, and SOPs accurately under the direction of the immediate supervisor and report the results.

● Conduct experiments involving solvent selection, washing, crystallization, filtration, extraction, adsorption, and drying.

● Understand the process and identify critical and non-critical steps during operations, and execute the process as per the laid-down instructions.

● Identify and control process-related and chemical impurities.

● Optimize process parameters to improve purity, yield, and process efficiency.

● Perform laboratory trials and prepare experimental reports, batch records, and process development reports.

● Support process optimization by preparing suitable summaries of activities.

● Prepare mass balances,



process flow diagrams, and scale-up requirements.

● Coordinate with QC, QA, and Production teams.

● Support scale-up, technology transfer, and validation activities.

● Review literature, patents, and technical information for process development.

● Follow GMP, GLP, EHS, and laboratory safety requirements.

● Troubleshoot process issues and recommend suitable corrective actions.

Required Skills

● Good knowledge of purification and process chemistry.

● Practical laboratory handling and experimental skills.

● Knowledge of solvent properties and solubility behavior.

● Basic understanding of analytical data and impurity profiling.

● Positive documentation and communication skills.

● Ability to independently plan and execute R&D; trials.

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per year
