NetDevOps Engineer - L1 (Network Automation)

Key Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities : We are seeking a motivated and technically inclined NetDevOps Engineer (L1) to join our Network Engineering and Automation team. The ideal candidate should have foundational networking knowledge along with a passion for coding, automation, and infrastructure management. This role will focus on supporting network automation initiatives, developing Python-based scripts, troubleshooting network issues, and assisting in the implementation of automated network operations. Key Responsibilities • Develop, maintain, and support network automation scripts using Python. • Assist in automating repetitive network operational tasks and workflows. • Work with networking devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. • Monitor network health, performance, and availability. • Troubleshoot basic network connectivity and configuration issues. • Support configuration management and infrastructure-as-code initiatives. • Collaborate with network and DevOps teams to improve operational efficiency. • Utilize APIs to interact with network devices and management platforms. • Document automation workflows, scripts, and operational procedures. • Participate in incident management, change implementation, and problem resolution activities.



• Assist in testing and validating automation solutions before deployment. • Follow IT security and compliance standards during automation development.

Skill Requirements

Skill Requirement : Networking Fundamentals • Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, STP, and subnetting. • Basic knowledge of routing and switching concepts. • Familiarity with network protocols such as: o BGP o OSPF o EIGRP (preferred) o SNMP o SSH • Understanding of network troubleshooting methodologies. Programming & Automation • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Python. • Understanding of: o Variables o Functions o Loops o Error handling o File handling o Object-Oriented Programming (preferred) • Experience using Python libraries such as: o Netmiko o Paramiko o Requests o NAPALM (preferred) DevOps & Automation Tools • Basic understanding of: o Git/GitHub o REST APIs o JSON/YAML o CI/CD concepts o Linux operating system • Exposure to automation tools such as: o Ansible o Terraform (valuable to have) Monitoring & Operations • Familiarity with network monitoring tools. • Ability to analyze logs and troubleshoot issues. • Understanding of incident, change, and problem management processes.
