Position: Sales Manager – Medical Device Plastics & Consumables
Location: Pune
Experience: 8–10 Years
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Manager with a strong background in Medical
Device Plastics, Consumables, and Accessories sales and manufacturing domain. The role will focus on
strategic account mining, customized client engagement, and smart lead generation within the
MedTech ecosystem.
The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of medical-grade plastic devices, engineering
and manufacturing (EMS) solutions, and the commercial dynamics of the healthcare procurement
landscape. This position requires close collaboration with technical, business development, and
marketing teams to create impactful sales strategies, customized pitches, and outbound campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
1. Account Mining & Market Intelligence
- Identify, analyse, and penetrate potential customers within the Healthcare Engineering and
MedTech domain preferably involving plastic accessories/consumables (IVD, Critical Care,
Patient Monitoring, Drug Delivery, etc.).
- Map key decision-makers across R&D;, procurement, supply chain, and leadership teams to
develop targeted engagement strategies.
- Maintain a structured database of prospects and track industry trends, competitor activity,
and emerging opportunities.
- Drive cross-selling opportunities across plastic consumables, accessories, and EMS offerings.
2. Custom Presentations & Proposal Coordination
- Collaborate with technical heads to develop tailored presentations aligned with customer-
specific requirements.
- Coordinate end-to-end proposal development ensuring technical feasibility and commercial
viability.
- Manage and respond to RFPs, RFIs, and client inquiries; conduct first-level client interactions
and qualification discussions for final closure.
- Support pricing strategy and commercial negotiations in coordination with leadership.
3. Sales Enablement & Client Engagement
- Leverage LinkedIn Sales Navigator and CRM tools for targeted outreach and lead qualification.
- Design and execute structured email campaigns and engagement initiatives to strengthen
pipeline generation.
- Develop compelling sales collaterals, value propositions, and competitive positioning
strategies.
- Build strong account management practices to maximize revenue extraction from existing
customers.
4. Event Participation & Networking
- Represent the organization at industry exhibitions, MedTech conferences, and trade events.
- Develop structured event participation strategies to enhance brand visibility and generate
qualified leads.
- Establish and nurture long-term relationships with prospective OEMs and strategic partners.
5. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Establish best practices for sales and pre-sales processes; optimize workflows for efficiency.
- Work closely with sales, marketing, engineering, and manufacturing teams to align customer
requirements with internal capabilities.
- Drive a solution-oriented, consultative selling approach.
Key Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Biomedical / Mechanical / Electronics / Polymer / Plastics
or related field).
- MBA (Marketing/Business) preferred.
- 8–10 years of experience in Sales and Lead Generation within Medical Devices, preferably
involving Plastics, Consumables, Accessories, or EMS solutions.
- Strong understanding of medical device procurement cycles and OEM engagement models.
- Expertise in managing both technical and commercial aspects of the sales lifecycle.
- Proficiency in LinkedIn Sales Navigator, CRM platforms, and digital outreach tools.
- Proven experience in account management, cross-selling, and stakeholder navigation within
large organizations.
- Excellent presentation, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings, industry events, and exhibitions.
