Job Summary
The Practice Director will lead the incubation, development, and scaling of new service lines and differentiated solutions for the semiconductor equipment business. The role will identify emerging customer needs, technology trends, and whitespace opportunities across areas such as equipment engineering, automation, software, data/AI, lifecycle services, and manufacturing operations. Working closely with customers, account teams, engineering leaders, and ecosystem partners, the Practice Director will define the practice vision, solution portfolio, investment priorities, and go-to-market roadmap aligned with business growth objectives.
The incumbent will take new offerings from concept through validation, pilot engagements, commercialization, and scale. Responsibilities include developing business cases, defining solution architectures and delivery models, establishing reusable frameworks and accelerators, creating pricing and commercial models, and building the required talent and partner ecosystem. The Practice Director will also sponsor strategic customer engagements, shape large transformation opportunities, support sales pursuits, and establish thought leadership and industry positioning while ensuring that new offerings deliver measurable customer outcomes and sustainable differentiation.
The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of experience in semiconductor, semiconductor equipment, engineering services, digital engineering, or adjacent high-technology industries, with demonstrated success in building and scaling new practices,
offerings, or businesses. Strong knowledge of semiconductor equipment engineering and lifecycle processes, combined with commercial acumen, technology orientation, executive customer engagement skills, and experience leading cross-functional global teams, is essential. The role requires an entrepreneurial leader who can translate market trends and customer challenges into scalable solutions, build organizational capability, and own business outcomes including pipeline, revenue growth, profitability, and market adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and incubate new service lines, solutions, and business models aligned to emerging needs in the semiconductor equipment industry.
- Develop practice strategy, offering roadmaps, business cases, and go-to-market plans for new capabilities.
- Lead solution conceptualization, customer validation, pilot execution, commercialization, and scaling of successful offerings.
- Partner with sales, account, engineering, delivery, and technology teams to shape strategic opportunities and drive customer adoption.
- Build differentiated IP, accelerators, frameworks, partnerships, and talent capabilities to strengthen market positioning.
- Engage senior customer stakeholders to understand business and technology priorities and translate them into scalable service offerings.
- Own key practice metrics including pipeline, revenue, profitability, solution adoption, and return on incubation investments.
- Track industry, technology, and competitor trends to continuously refresh the portfolio and identify current growth opportunities.
Skill Requirements
- Strong understanding of the semiconductor equipment industry, including equipment engineering, lifecycle services, automation, software, and emerging digital technologies.
- Proven experience in incubating and scaling new service offerings, solutions, or business practices from concept to commercialization.
- Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and ability to develop business cases, investment plans, pricing models, and go-to-market strategies.
- Excellent customer-facing and consultative skills, with the ability to engage senior executives and translate business challenges into differentiated solutions.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities, with experience driving cross-functional and globally distributed teams.
- Ability to identify technology and market trends and convert them into innovative, scalable, and commercially viable offerings.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and solution-selling skills, with a demonstrated focus on revenue growth and business outcomes.
