JOB DESCRIPTION – MAIN PRINTER

Job Summary

The Main Printer will be responsible for operating and managing the assigned printing machine, maintaining consistent print quality, achieving production targets, and ensuring that printing jobs are completed according to the approved job specifications and production schedule.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate and manage the assigned printing machine efficiently and safely.
- Set up the machine according to the job card, paper/material specifications, colour requirements and approved sample.
- Check printing plates, inks, paper and other materials before starting production.
- Ensure proper colour matching, registration, alignment and print quality.
- Monitor the printing process continuously and make necessary machine adjustments.
- Check the first print/sample and ensure it matches the approved proof or specification.
- Maintain consistent quality throughout the production run.
- Minimize paper, ink and other material wastage.
- Complete printing jobs according to the production plan and required delivery schedule.
- Identify printing defects and take corrective action wherever possible.
- Coordinate with the Planning, Design, Production, QC and Post-Press teams regarding job requirements.




- Maintain production, wastage and job-completion records.
- Report machine breakdowns, technical issues and maintenance requirements to the concerned person.
- Ensure proper cleaning, maintenance and housekeeping of the printing machine and surrounding area.
- Follow all safety procedures and company rules while operating the machine.
- Guide and coordinate with assistant printers/helpers working with the machine.
- Handle urgent and priority jobs as instructed by the Production Manager.
- Perform any other printing-related duties assigned by the management.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience as a Printer / Printing Machine Operator.
- Experience in commercial printing and/or packaging printing is preferred.
- Solid knowledge of printing machine operation and setup.
- Good knowledge of colour matching and registration.
- Ability to identify and rectify common printing defects.
- Ability to read and understand job cards and production instructions.
- Good knowledge of inks, paper/materials and printing processes.
- Strong attention to detail and quality consciousness.
- Ability to work under production targets and deadlines.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to work in shifts when required.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
