Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Kafka Administrator with 3+ years of hands-on experience in administering, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Apache Kafka environments. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring Kafka cluster stability, performance, availability, and smooth operation across environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Apache Kafka clusters.
- Manage Kafka brokers, topics, partitions, replicas, consumer groups, and configurations.
- Monitor Kafka cluster health, performance, capacity, and availability.
- Troubleshoot Kafka broker, producer, consumer, replication, and connectivity issues.
- Perform topic creation, partition management, replication-factor changes, and configuration updates.
- Monitor Consumer Lag and identify performance or processing issues.
- Manage Kafka security including SSL/TLS, SASL, ACLs, and authentication/authorization.
- Perform Kafka upgrades, patching, configuration changes, and cluster maintenance.
- Manage and troubleshoot ZooKeeper and/or KRaft-based Kafka environments.
- Work on Kafka performance tuning, capacity planning, and resource optimization.
- Configure and monitor replication and ensure data availability and fault tolerance.
- Support disaster recovery, backup/restore, and high-availability requirements.
- Analyze Kafka logs and metrics to identify and resolve production issues.




- Work closely with development, DevOps, application, and infrastructure teams.
- Prepare operational documentation, monitoring dashboards, and incident reports.
- Participate in production support and on-call activities when required.

Required Skills

- 3+ years of hands-on experience in Kafka Administration.
- Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka architecture and components.
- Experience managing Kafka brokers, topics, partitions, replicas, and consumer groups.
- Positive understanding of Kafka monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Kafka security – SSL, SASL, ACLs.
- Knowledge of ZooKeeper and/or KRaft.
- Experience with Linux/Unix administration.
- Good understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, ports, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Experience with shell scripting is preferred.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Kafka Exporter, or similar tools is an advantage.
- Good troubleshooting and production-support skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with Confluent Kafka / Confluent Platform.
- Exposure to Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, and REST Proxy.
- Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with Kubernetes/containerized Kafka environments.
- Knowledge of automation/configuration management tools such as Ansible or Terraform.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

Pay: Up to ₹900,000.00 per year
