We're Hiring - Development Engineer Company: Yamada AutomationLocation: Dherowal / Nalagarh, Himachal PradeshFunction: Engineering / Current Product Development / Manufacturing EngineeringExperience: 4-8 YearsRole Type: Full-time | Shop-floor intensiveYamada Automation is looking for a hands-on Development Engineer who can convert customer drawings and technical requirements into robust, economical and production-ready machining processes.The role involves end-to-end ownership of new component development - from drawing feasibility and process planning to tooling, fixture development, CNC prove-out, dimensional validation, cycle-time stabilization and final handover to production.Key Responsibilities Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T;, datums, tolerances, fits and surface-finish requirementsConduct manufacturing feasibility reviews and identify machining, tolerance and inspection challengesDevelop complete machining process routes for castings, forgings and raw-material componentsSelect suitable HMC, VMC, CNC turning center, VTL and support processesDefine machining setups, datum strategy, operation sequence and process parametersSelect and optimize cutting tools, inserts, holders, feeds, speeds and depth of cutDesign/develop fixtures and workholding systems using sound 3-2-1 locating principlesApply hydraulic/pneumatic fixtures, tombstones and 4th-axis concepts where appropriateCoordinate/create CNC programs and conduct dry runs, prove-outs and first-off machiningOptimize cycle time, tool life, setup time, machine utilization and cost per componentTroubleshoot dimensional variation, chatter, tool breakage, poor surface finish and fixture instabilityPrepare process sheets, setup sheets, tooling lists, fixture documentation and CNC program revision recordsWork closely with Quality, Production, Purchase and Maintenance for FAI,



PPAP and production handoverTrain operators/setters on new setups and critical process controlsTechnical Skills Required Strong practical knowledge of:Engineering Drawings & GD&T; | HMC | VMC | CNC Turning | CAD/CAM | CNC Programming | Cutting Tools | Fixtures & Workholding | Feeds & Speeds | Process Planning | Cycle-Time Optimization | FAI | PPAP | Root-Cause AnalysisExperience in machining cast iron, SG iron, steel, alloy steel and aluminium components is preferred.Exposure to horizontal tombstones, 4th-axis machining, hydraulic/pneumatic clamping and cast/forged components will be an advantage.Qualification & Experience Diploma / B. E. / B. Tech in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing or Tool EngineeringPreferred experience: 4-8 years in machining development/manufacturing engineeringExperience in automotive, railway, heavy engineering, precision machining or similar industriesHands-on exposure to HMCs, VMCs and CNC turning centers is essentialWorking knowledge of MS Excel and Word for technical documentation and development reportsWho Should Apply?
