Job Description – Patient Caretaker / Home Care Attendant

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Patient Caretaker / Home Care Attendant to provide personal care and daily assistance to a patient at home. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the patient’s comfort, hygiene, safety, and overall well-being.

The ideal candidate should be compassionate, patient, trustworthy, and responsible, with practical experience in taking care of patients or elderly individuals at home or in a hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide 24/7 or shift-based personal care to the patient as required.
* Assist the patient with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
* Help with walking, movement, repositioning, and mobility support.
* Assist with feeding, meals, and maintaining adequate fluid intake.
* Give medicines on time as prescribed and instructed by the doctor/family.
* Monitor the patient’s general condition and immediately communicate any unusual symptoms or changes.
* Provide care and support to bedridden or dependent patients, if required.
* Assist with basic exercises, physiotherapy routines, or other activities as advised by healthcare professionals.
* Maintain a clean, hygienic, and comfortable environment around the patient.




* Accompany the patient to doctor appointments, hospitals, or medical tests when required.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to the patient.
* Follow the instructions of the patient’s family members, doctor, nurse, or other healthcare professionals.
* Maintain proper discipline, punctuality, and confidentiality while working at the patient’s home.

Candidate Requirements

* 2–5 years of relevant experience in patient care, home care, hospital care, nursing assistance, or elderly care.
* Experience handling elderly, bedridden, recovering, or dependent patients will be preferred.
* Basic understanding of patient hygiene, mobility assistance, feeding, and medication schedules.
* Good communication skills and a caring attitude.
* Must be reliable, honest, patient, and respectful toward the patient and family.
* Physically fit and comfortable assisting patients with daily activities and mobility.
* Candidates with experience in post-operative care or long-term patient care will have an added advantage.
