Indya designs and makes Indian occasion wear and wedding wear in India and delivers it to women around the world, with key markets including the US, UK, Canada and Australia.
Role Overview
We are looking for a PR Lead to own and drive Indya's public relations, founder visibility, industry presence, employer branding and reputation management.
This is a high-ownership role working closely with the Founder and leadership team to build strong media relationships, identify compelling company stories and strengthen Indya's presence across business, startup and lifestyle media.
What you will own:
1. Media Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists and editors across Indian business, startup and lifestyle media.
- Manage media queries and coordinate interviews, briefings and media interactions.
- Maintain an updated media database.
2. Company Stories & PR
- Identify and pitch stories around business milestones, growth, new markets, key hires, partnerships and customer insights.
- Convert business data and trends into compelling PR stories.
3. Founder & Leadership Profile
- Build the Founder’s public profile through interviews, profiles, bylines, op-eds, podcasts and conference panels.
- Plan and draft the Founder’s LinkedIn content.
- Prepare talking points and briefing notes for interviews and public appearances.
4. Industry Presence
- Identify relevant startup, D2C and industry conferences, founder events and ecosystem platforms.
- Lead entries for business awards, rankings and industry lists.
5. Employer Branding
- Drive employer-brand initiatives and workplace award submissions.
- Build and communicate employee/team stories.
- Manage Indya’s presence across LinkedIn, Glassdoor, AmbitionBox, careers pages and campus platforms.
6. Press Assets
- Create and maintain press releases, press kits, company fact sheets, Founder/leadership bios and approved photo libraries.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of company information and data across communication channels.
7. Reputation & Crisis Management
- Monitor media, social media and review platforms for brand mentions.
- Maintain a crisis communication plan and prepare holding statements.
- Support leadership on sensitive and critical communications.
8. PR Partners & Budget
- Manage PR agencies, freelancers and external partners, wherever required.
- Own the PR calendar and PR budget.
9. Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare monthly PR reports covering media coverage, publication tiers, share of voice, Founder visibility, speaking opportunities, awards and employer ratings.
What We’re Looking For
- 4–8 years of experience in corporate or startup PR, either in-house or with a PR agency.
- Strong relationships with journalists across Indian business and startup media.
- Proven experience in building Founder/CXO profiles.
- Experience in employer branding or workplace awards is a strong plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex business stories.
- Robust understanding of startups, D2C and consumer brands.
- Strong ownership, networking and stakeholder-management skills.
