Role & responsibilities :

Smith & Nephew (S+N) is a large multinational Medical Technology organization with an extensive Enterprise Applications ecosystem to run end-to-end business operations. ERPs form the core of this ecosystem and are tightly integrated with best-in-class systems such as Salesforce, Windchill, Move medical, Maestro, Ariba, Workday and many more. At S+N, SAP serves as our primary and strategic ERP platform, running 80% of our operations and revenue. The remaining operations run on Microsoft AX and a few localized ERP systems.

We are seeking an SAP Order Management Solution Architect to design and deliver SAP solutions and customizations aligned with business requirements, while supporting and preparing for our strategic transition to SAP S/4HANA. Therefore, this role is both strategic and pivotal, playing a key part in enabling Smith & Nephew's digital transformation and continued growth over the coming years.

The Order Management Solution Architect is responsible for partnering with Business Process Owners to design and deliver Order to Cash solutions that meet business needs. The role requires solid SAP OM/SD expertise, a solid understanding of complex multinational business processes, and experience delivering large-scale global SAP implementations. The ideal candidate combines strong solution architecture capabilities with the ability to drive business value through standardized, scalable, and efficient processes.

The scope of the role is:

- Accountable for designing end-to-end technical solutions that achieve business objectives and align with enterprise architecture standards

- Provide leadership and governance to internal and HCL functional experts, ensuring successful delivery of business outcomes.

- Ensure solutions meet established quality standards, technical constraints, security requirements,



scalability expectations, and performance objectives.

- Provides governance and oversight across the delivery lifecycle, with responsibility for validating technical integrity, ensuring architectural compliance, and approving solution readiness for deployment.

Responsibilities:

(60%) Lead the design, delivery, and governance of SAP solutions across global releases, rollouts, and transformation programs.

(20%) Provide expert L3 support for Live countries and ensure stability, reliability, and optimal performance of business-critical SAP applications.

(10%) Govern solution changes through Design Authority processes, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, global standards, and long-term strategic objectives.

(10%) Champion continuous improvement and innovation by leveraging emerging SAP capabilities and industry best practices to enable business growth and transformation.

Location: Pune , India

Licenses/ Certifications:

- SAP Certifications in related module is preferred

- ITIL Qualifications is a plus

Experience:

- Proven track record in delivering full-cycle ERP implementations, including the deployment of global template solutions across multiple countries, regions, and business units.

- Strong expertise in SAP Order-to-Cash (OTC) processes, including Order Management, Pricing, Tenders, and Customer Master Data, with hands-on experience in SAP SD and CS/SM modules.

- Experience with SAP MM, LE, and EDI integrations,



with the ability to design and support end-to-end business processes across functional domains.

- Demonstrated experience integrating SAP with external pricing, tender management, and commercial solutions.

- Extensive functional experience with SAP ECC 6.0 EHP7 or later releases; exposure to SAP HANA and S/4HANA environments is highly desirable.

- Broad knowledge of additional SAP functional areas is an advantage, enabling effective collaboration on cross-functional initiatives and integrated solution design.

- Proven ability to design, govern, and support cross-functional solutions, with a strong understanding of end-to-end business processes, system dependencies, and integration touchpoints.

- Experience working within regulated industries, particularly Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals, or the broader Life Sciences sector, is preferred.

- Minimum of seven years of SAP functional consulting and solution delivery experience in complex, multinational environments.

- Demonstrated success working with globally distributed teams and managing stakeholders across multiple geographies, cultures, and time zones.

- Knowledge of the myMediset (MyM) solution from BIT Consulting, including its integration with SAP LE, SD, and MM modules, would be considered a strong advantage.
