Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Draftsman with strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and a good understanding of mechanical engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, and engineering standards. The candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate 2D mechanical drawings to support manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, and installation activities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare detailed 2D mechanical drawings using AutoCAD for manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, and installation.
2. Create and modify engineering drawings, layouts, component drawings, and fabrication drawings as per design specifications.
3. Ensure accuracy and quality of drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, material specifications, and other technical details.
4. Demonstrate excellent speed and proficiency in AutoCAD 2D to meet project deadlines.
5. Apply GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles while preparing and reviewing engineering drawings.
6. Interpret engineering sketches, concepts, and specifications and convert them into detailed technical drawings.
7. Coordinate with design, production, and fabrication teams to ensure drawings meet manufacturing requirements.

Incorporate drawing revisions and modifications based on engineering feedback and production requirements.
9. Ensure drawings comply with applicable engineering standards, material specifications, and dimensional tolerances.
10. Develop drawings considering manufacturing processes such as welding, machining, sheet metal work, and structural fabrication.
11. Maintain proper documentation and revision control of engineering drawings.
12. Provide technical support to manufacturing and assembly teams whenever required.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical drafting or detailing.
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D (Mandatory).
- Positive drafting speed with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of GD&T;, engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Understanding of mechanical materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering standards.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and technical specifications.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet project timelines.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in the steel fabrication or structural fabrication industry.
- Experience in the weighing systems, industrial equipment, or manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks is an added advantage.
- Practical knowledge of welding, machining, sheet metal, and fabrication drawings.
