Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Regional Manager – Microfinance to manage and drive the overall business performance of approximately 30 branches in the Bhopal region. The role will be responsible for business growth, portfolio quality, collections, operational excellence, customer acquisition, team productivity, and adherence to company policies and regulatory guidelines.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Microfinance / MFI / NBFC / Retail Lending, with proven experience managing a large branch network and leading Branch Managers and field teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage overall business operations and performance across approximately 30 branches in the assigned region.
- Drive business growth, disbursement, customer acquisition and portfolio expansion in line with organizational targets.
- Set branch-wise business targets and monitor achievement through regular performance reviews.
- Lead, mentor and develop Branch Managers, Cluster/Area Managers and field teams.
- Monitor branch productivity, employee performance and manpower utilization.
- Ensure portfolio quality through effective credit discipline, monitoring and early identification of delinquency.
- Drive collections and repayment performance, including overdue and delinquency management.
- Review branch-level PAR / DPD / collection efficiency / write-offs and other portfolio quality indicators.
- Identify underperforming branches and implement corrective action plans.
- Ensure strict adherence to credit, KYC, audit, operational and compliance processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable RBI / regulatory guidelines and company policies.




- Conduct regular branch visits and review branch operations, customer service, documentation and field processes.
- Work closely with Credit, Collections, Operations, HR, Risk and other functions to resolve business and operational issues.
- Identify new business opportunities and support branch expansion and market development in the assigned geography.
- Monitor competitor activity, local market trends and customer segments to support business strategy.
- Ensure proper utilization of manpower and maintain high employee productivity.
- Handle escalations relating to customers, employees, operations and business performance.
- Ensure timely implementation of management directives and business initiatives.
- Prepare and present MIS, business reviews and performance reports to senior management.

Candidate Profile

- 8–15 years of experience in Microfinance / MFI / NBFC / Retail Lending / Rural Lending / Financial Services.
- Solid experience in managing multiple branches or a large geographical region.
- Experience handling 20–30+ branches will be preferred.
- Proven experience managing Branch Managers / Area Managers / Cluster Managers and large field teams.
- Strong understanding of microfinance lending, group lending, collections, credit and portfolio management.
- Strong analytical, leadership and people-management skills.
- Good understanding of branch-level MIS and portfolio quality metrics.
- Ability to work in a target-driven and rapidly expanding business environment.
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
