About the Role

The Head - Commercial & Supply Chain will be responsible for building and leading the commercial and supply chain backbone of the organisation across procurement, stores, finished goods inventory, dispatch, and logistics operations.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for establishing structured commercial governance, strengthening material flow visibility, and driving working capital efficiency across the manufacturing ecosystem.

The role will work closely with the Founder and Plant Leadership to ensure commercial operations are aligned with production planning, inventory discipline, and dispatch requirements across plants.

The position will oversee multiple commercial functions and lead functional heads responsible for procurement, stores management, finished goods warehousing, and dispatch & logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial & Supply Chain Leadership

- Lead commercial and supply chain operations across procurement, stores, finished goods management, and dispatch logistics
- Establish structured operating frameworks to support scale, operational discipline, and cross-plant coordination
- Ensure seamless alignment between plant operations, production planning, inventory availability, and dispatch commitments




- Drive visibility and control across material movement from inbound procurement through outbound dispatch

Procurement Strategy & Vendor Ecosystem

- Provide leadership oversight across procurement operations including raw materials, engineering spares, consumables, and other organisational purchases
- Build and manage a strong vendor ecosystem to ensure supply reliability and commercial competitiveness
- Lead commercial negotiations, vendor evaluation frameworks, and supplier performance management
- Establish procurement governance frameworks that balance cost optimisation with operational continuity

Inventory Governance & Stores Management

- Drive strong inventory governance across raw material stores, engineering spares, and consumables
- Improve stock accuracy, inventory visibility, and material tracking mechanisms across plants
- Implement structured stores operating procedures to ensure disciplined material handling and control
- Strengthen coordination between procurement, stores, and production planning teams

Finished Goods & Warehouse Operations

- Oversee finished goods inventory management and warehouse operations across plants
- Ensure structured inventory tracking, stock rotation discipline, and warehouse efficiency
- Align finished goods availability with production output and dispatch planning
- Drive inventory turnover improvements and reduce avoidable stock build-up

Dispatch & Logistics Management

- Lead dispatch planning and execution across plants to ensure reliable customer fulfilment
- Strengthen logistics planning frameworks including transporter management and dispatch scheduling
- Monitor logistics cost structures and improve transport efficiency through structured contracting and route planning
- Ensure strong coordination between finished goods management, dispatch teams, and logistics partners

Working Capital & Operational Efficiency

- Improve working capital efficiency through better control over inventory cycles across raw materials and finished goods




- Strengthen inventory planning discipline and stock monitoring mechanisms
- Ensure commercial processes support both operational efficiency and financial prudence

Systems & Process Discipline

- Ensure effective adoption and usage of ERP systems (SAP) across commercial functions
- Establish structured operating procedures across procurement, inventory management, warehouse operations, and dispatch
- Improve reporting frameworks to provide better operational visibility and decision support

Team Leadership & Capability Building

- Lead and develop functional heads responsible for procurement, stores, finished goods, and dispatch operations
- Build robust operating rhythms through structured reviews, performance monitoring, and accountability mechanisms
- Strengthen capability and discipline across commercial teams supporting plant operations

Experience, Skills & Attributes

- 18+ years of experience in commercial and supply chain leadership roles within manufacturing environments
- Strong exposure to procurement, inventory management, logistics operations, and supply chain governance
- Prior experience in packaging, films, chemicals, or heavy manufacturing industries preferred
- Proven ability to lead multi-functional commercial teams within large-scale manufacturing setups
- Strong understanding of ERP-driven commercial operations and inventory management systems
- Experience managing vendor ecosystems and leading commercial negotiations
- Ability to drive operational discipline while balancing commercial objectives and plant requirements
- Strong stakeholder management skills across plant leadership, procurement teams, and supply chain partners
- Leadership maturity with the ability to build structure within scaling organisations
