- Operate Vertical Machining Centre (VMC) for production machining.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform machine setting, tool loading and workpiece setting.
- Understand tool offsets,work offsets and tool wear compensation.
- Load/edit existing CNC programs as required.
- Perform drilling, milling,tapping, pocketing, facing and contouring operations.
- Use Vernier, micrometer,height gauge and other inspection instruments.
- Monitor machining parameters and maintain required surface finish.
- Conduct first-piece and in-process inspection.
- Troubleshoot basic machining and tool-related issues.
Recommended Qualification
- ITI Machinist / Fitter or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 13 years minimum; 3–5 years preferred for independent setters.
- Knowledge of Fanuc/Siemens/Heidenhain controls is an advantage.
Knowledge of CNC programming/offset setting preferred.
