• Job Purpose

n

The position is responsible for the frontline execution of protected & efficient shift cargo operations considering the safety and operational factors while complying with the port policies & procedures.

n

Key Accountabilities

n

1. Prepare & Review operations plan by collecting vessel details/ stowage plan/ sequence from vessel agents and cargo handling terms from marketing.

n

Ensure availability of shore cranes, equipment and stevedoring gangs as per plan and allocate them in coordination with commodity manager and manager equipment.

n

Review vessel wise resource utilization (Manpower, shore cranes, equipment usage)

n

2. Documentation – Recording & Checking Daily Discharge Details, Draught Survey & other Port Documents pertaining to Dry cargo operations.

n

Complete all pre/post documentation of all vessels. Sorting out & Closing stevedoring damages if any with Repairs Contractor & Vessel's Master / Chief Officer

n

3. Coordinate with Shippers/ receivers/ clients/commodity managers/marketing/planning and allocation for smooth cargo operation.

n

4. Stakeholder Management - Port Control, Agents & Surveyors for vessel berthing & cast off

n

Coordinating with Master / Chief Officer for Discharge Sequence Planning as per requirements

n

Responsible for all safety measures while allocating onboard workers into confined space

n

Shippers' declaration to obtained from the vessel to knowledge.

n

5. Housekeeping of berths on regular basis.

n

Co-ordinating with fire team for fire suppression & firefighting as per requirement during loading off thermal coal. Preventing contamination, mixing up of different grades of cargo of same/different customer.

n

6. Explore potential areas of operations for new technologies or systems through ToS and other areas of responsibility that can enhance terminal safety, operations and efficiency

n

7. Coordinate back up Yard In-charge for discharge planning & resources planning (Viz.



dumpers, payloaders, traffic marshalls) & MHS in-charge for HMCs, Truck Loading processes.

n

Proper planning at yard in co-ordination with rake planning to minimize stoppages during vessel discharging.

Experience & Educational Requirements

n

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

n

(degree, training, or certification required) Graduation in any stream

n

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: (no. of years of technical, functional, and/or leadership experience or specific exposure required) At least 5 years of experience as Onboard supervisor or Yard back up operations.
