About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Full-Time WordPress Backend Developer to join our remote team at Make Me Local. In this role, you will work closely with designers, content creators, marketing specialists, and fellow developers to transform project requirements and design concepts into fully functional, high-performing websites. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the development of custom WordPress features, ensuring that websites are optimized for speed, security, and SEO.

You will play a key role in integrating third-party APIs, automating workflows, and maintaining high standards of code quality through version control systems such as Git. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, contributing to the continuous improvement of our development processes and client solutions.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a WordPress Developer, demonstrating a deep understanding of WordPress architecture, REST APIs,



and the broader WordPress ecosystem. You should have extensive experience developing custom features and themes, with a strong command of PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript. Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks, particularly React.js, and experience with Gutenberg block development are essential.

Familiarity with page builders such as Elementor or similar tools is also required. You should have a solid understanding of web security principles, performance optimization techniques, and SEO best practices. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Additionally, experience with modern development workflows, including Composer, npm, webpack, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker, will be considered advantageous.
