Welder (onshore)
Primary purpose of the job:
The Primary purpose of the job is to sets up, adjust and operate welding equipment and weld components in flat, vertical and overhead positions
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provide support for welding activities on piping, pipe supports, and structural steel in shop and field, ensuring equipment is well-maintained.
· Operate various welding methods (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, Oxyacetylene, Brazing) and plasma cutting machines, following WPS and safety standards.
· Fabricate pipe spools, supports, spacers, and blanks, and collaborate with pipe riggers and welders for piping repairs.
· Select and set up electrodes, torches, filler rods, and gas connections according to specifications and material type.
· Maintain tools, follow industry standards, and perform SS, CS, and Aluminum welding to achieve quality and RT-approved results.
Educational Qualifications:
Diploma / ITI / equal qualification in welding. Certificate of competence,
issued by a recognized body.
Relevant Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years work experience in an Oil & Gas Industry or in a
Petrochemical environment or related industry, including 3 years working as a Welder.
English Language Skills: Basic written and oral communication skills in English.
Trade Certificate / Specialized Trainings:
Certified 6G in CS & SS.
Qualified to ASME IX in all positions to weld P1 and P8 materials using both SMAW and GTAW processes
Qualified to weld structural steel to AWS D1.1
Salary details:
Basic Salary: QAR 2000/- per month
Other allowance: 1100/- per month
Housing, food and transportation: Provided by company
30 days paid vacation on completion of 12 months of service.
Working pattern: 5days a week with 9 hrs per day.
Fabricator (offshore)
Primary purpose of the job
Prepare, set-up, fabricate and assemble piping and structural steel
Duties and Responsibilities
· Provide technical expertise and supervision for Maintenance fabrication.
Conversant with p&id; and isomeric drawing and perform pipe fit ups as per drawings ss and cs.
· Calculate patterns, center of gravity, and load spacing; perform operations on machines like plate rolling, band saw, and plate shearing.
· Ensure quality control of all maintenance activities using checklists and understand cross-sectional drawings and related procedures.
· Operate various machines and tools for fabrication, cladding, and lifting/shifting loads using overhead cranes.
· Collect data for technical reports, follow equipment standards, participate in toolbox meetings, and report near misses, incidents, and accidents.
Experience, Knowledge and skills
Educational Qualifications: Technology diploma / ITI certificate from recognized Institution
Relevant Work Experience: minimum 5-year experience in a workshop carrying out fabrication / welding of piping, pressure vessels and structural steel
English Language Skills: Basic written and oral communication skills in English.
Job Specific Requirements
Experience in setting up and carrying out hydrostatic testing.
Extensive knowledge of techniques and skills to site measure, cut (using Oxy-acetylene and
Plasma) set up and prepare for welding piping and structural steel of a variety of materials.
Good understanding of Isometric and P&ID; drawings.
Knowledgeable in all types of metals and its properties.
Knowledge to diagnose the cause of failure and provide reasons for failure.
Knowledgeable of heat exchanger re-tubing and refurbishments.
Works with the complexities of a multi-cultural and multi-national workplace
Basic Salary: QAR 1800/- per month
Other allowance: 2300/- per month (when deputed in offshore only
Rotation cycle: 35 days offshore duty and 7 days field break (during field break, only basic will be paid)
Working pattern: 7days a week with12 hrs per day.
Housing, food and transportation: Provided by company
30 days paid vacation on completion of 12 months of service.
