About PedalStart
At PedalStart, we run a sector-agnostic early-stage startup accelerator fund. We typically write $100-150k cheques across domains and actively invest in up rounds; we also help founders close Seed and Series A rounds with our VCs and family offices network. We support founders and back them from ideation. Our mission is to empower founders with the resources and expertise necessary for sustainable rapid scaling.
Role Overview
We are seeking an ambitious, articulate, and client-centric Key Account Manager (KAM) with a strong background in banking or wealth advisory. In this role, you will manage and nurture PedalStart’s existing network of HNIs, angel investors, and investment partners. You do not need prior venture capital experience—we will train and educate you across each specific industry sector (SaaS, FinTech, D2C, DeepTech, HealthTech, etc.).
Your primary focus will be leveraging your existing consultative relationship management skills and driving capital deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the dedicated account manager for PedalStart’s existing network of angel investors, HNIs, and family offices.
- Gain a deep, structured understanding of each investor’s preferences, risk appetite, cheque size, sector bias, and investment thesis.
- Maintain regular, high-touch engagement through portfolio updates, investment summaries, and 1-on-1 strategy discussions.
- Manage end-to-end capital commitment workflows,
from initial interest expression to soft commitment and final deal execution.
- Participate actively in internal onboarding and training programs to master key startup sectors and investment terminology.
- Translate complex startup business models, market dynamics, and traction metrics into explicit, relatable narratives for investors.
- Ensure high investor satisfaction, trust, and retention across sequential funding rounds.
- Identify cross-investment opportunities, encouraging repeat investments into PedalStart’s cohort startups.
- Track engagement metrics, response rates, and pipeline conversion using internal CRM and Excel.
Candidate Qualifications & Skill Requirements
- Background: 3 to 6 years of experience in Wealth Management, Private Banking, Relationship Management (Priority/Imperia/Wealth divisions), or Financial Advisory.
- Communication Mastery: Exceptional spoken and written English communication skills; adept at presenting high-stakes financial opportunities with clarity and poise.
- Investor Empathy: Native ability to understand investor psychology, wealth management goals, portfolio allocation strategies, and risk thresholds.
- Adaptability & Learning Agility: Strong appetite to learn new technology sectors, emerging business models, and early-stage startup valuation mechanics.
- Execution Focus: Self-driven team player with a proven track record of managing client portfolios and meeting relationship/capital distribution targets.
