Job Summary:

The Operation MIS Lead is a strategic role within ATAs Data organization, responsible for driving end to-end reporting governance, data visibility, and advanced analytics across freight forwarding operations. This role will lead the design and implementation of a centralized, Power BI-driven reporting ecosystem that enables real-time, data-driven decision-making across Ocean, Air, Inland, Warehouse, Transport, and 4PL operations. Acting as the single source of truth for operational and commercial data, the role bridges business and technology by collaborating closely with Operations, Finance, and Key Account teams.

The incumbent will transform raw operational data into actionable insights, improve SLA adherence, enhance reporting automation, and identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Power BI & Dashboard Ownership (Core):

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Power BI dashboards for end-to-end operations.
- Define and implement meaningful KPIs to drive actionable business insights.
- Build intuitive visualization layers for both internal stakeholders and customers.
- Enable real-time / near real-time reporting by integrating multiple data sources.

2. Business & Operational Reporting:

- Collaborate with Operations teams to understand processes and translate them into meaningful reports.
- Develop reports covering shipment tracking, SLA adherence, OTD performance, and exception management.
- Create compliance dashboards (cost, invoicing, AR/AP, service contracts).
- Deliver customer-specific and governance reports for key accounts.

- Act as a bridge between Data, Operations, Finance, and Commercial teams.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and continuously enhance outputs.
- Support leadership and client discussions with data-backed insights and performance scorecards

Required Skills: 1. Functional / Domain Expertise:

- Strong understanding of freight forwarding operations (Ocean, Air, Inland, Warehouse, Transport, 4PL).
- Deep knowledge of shipment lifecycle, documentation, customs processes, and logistics workflows.
- Familiarity with operational KPIs such as SLA, OTD,



transit times, and exception handling.
- Understanding of commercial constructs like pricing, margins, cost structures, and billing cycles

2. MIS Reporting & Data Management Expertise:

- Strong capability to design, manage, and optimize end-to-end MIS frameworks across operations and commercial functions.
- Expertise in building structured, scalable, and standardized reporting layers aligned to business hierarchies (region, trade lane, customer, service line).
- Ability to create automated MIS packs (daily, weekly, monthly) with drill-down capabilities and dynamic filters.
- Proficiency in consolidating data from multiple systems (TMS, ERP, WMS, Finance systems) into a unified reporting view.
- Experience in defining report logic, KPI calculations, and data validation rules to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Strong control over report versioning, audit trails, and reconciliation mechanisms.

3. Advanced Data Analysis & Interpretation:

- Ability to analyze large datasets and identify trends, anomalies, and performance gaps.
- Strong skills in slicing and dicing data across dimensions such as customer, geography, product, and time.
- Capability to interpret operational data (shipment lifecycle, delays, exceptions) and derive meaningful insights.
- Expertise in variance analysis (planned vs actual, budget vs actual, forecast vs actual).
- Ability to correlate operational metrics with financial outcomes (cost, revenue, margin impact)

4. KPI Design & Performance Measurement:

- Strong experience in defining and standardizing KPIs such as SLA adherence, OTD, cost per shipment, productivity metrics.
- Ability to design leading and lagging indicators for proactive performance monitoring.
- Expertise in setting thresholds, benchmarks, and performance targets aligned with business objectives.
- Capability to build KPI frameworks that drive accountability across functions.

5. Exception & Root Cause Analytics:

- Ability to develop exception-based reporting models for proactive issue identification.
- Strong root cause analysis skills across operational, financial, and process dimensions.
- Capability to identify systemic issues (process gaps, vendor performance, system inefficiencies).
- Experience in building corrective action tracking dashboards and monitoring resolution effectiveness.

6. Commercial & Cost Analytics:

- Strong analytical capability to evaluate revenue, margin, and cost structures.
- Ability to identify revenue leakage, billing gaps, and cost inefficiencies.
- Experience in cost optimization analysis (lane-wise, customer-wise, shipment-wise).
- Capability to support pricing, budgeting, and forecasting with data-backed insights.

7. Data Storytelling & Insight Generation:

- Ability to convert complex data into clear, concise, and actionable insights for leadership.
- Expertise in preparing executive summaries highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Strong storytelling skills using dashboards, charts, and narrative explanations.

Qualifications & Experience:

Educational Qualification

- Bachelors Degree (Mandatory):

1. B.E. / B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field
2. OR Bachelors in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or Operations Research

- Academic Foundation Expectation:

1. Strong grounding in data analysis, statistics, and problem-solving methodologies.
2. Understanding of business processes, especially in logistics or supply chain domains.

Overall Experience

Total Experience:

- 8-12 years of relevant experience in MIS, Reporting, Data Analytics, or Business Intelligence roles.
- Ideal candidate profile around 10 years of experience with progressive responsibility.

Industry Experience (Mandatory):

- Proven experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain domain.
- Robust exposure to operations across Ocean, Air, Inland, Warehouse, or 4PL services.

Role-Specific Experience:

- Minimum 4-6 years of hands-on experience in MIS/reporting and analytics roles.
- Extensive experience in Power BI dashboard development, automation, and data visualization.
- Strong background in building and managing end-to-end reporting frameworks and governance models.

Data & Analytics Experience:

- Experience working with large, complex datasets and multiple data sources (ERP, TMS, WMS, Finance systems).
- Proven ability to convert data into actionable business insights and executive-level reporting.
- Hands- on experience in KPI design, performance tracking, and analytics-driven decision support.

Stakeholder & Leadership Experience:

- Experience working with cross-functional teams (Operations, Finance, Commercial, IT/Data teams).
- Exposure to stakeholder management, including senior leadership and client-facing reporting.
- Ability to drive reporting adoption, governance, and data-driven culture within the organization.

Delivery & Ownership:

- Proven track record of owning reporting delivery end-to-end with strong accountability.
- Experience in managing multiple reporting streams with high accuracy and timelines.
