Core Responsibilities

- Ore Body Mapping: Conduct routine geological mapping of advancing faces and benches to accurately delineate rock phosphate zones and waste rock.

- Grade Control: Direct the selective mining process by sampling blast holes and faces to ensure the mined phosphate meets required grade specifications and minimizes dilution.

- Core Logging & Exploration: Supervise exploratory drilling programs, log core samples, and interpret geological data to update the mine's resource model.

- Reserve Estimation: Calculate and update rock phosphate ore reserves and resources using geological modeling software.

- Geotechnical Monitoring: Assess pit wall stability, identify structural defects (faults, joints), and collaborate with the engineering team to ensure protected opencast operations.

- Reconciliation: Compare actual mined grades and tonnages against geological models to improve future production accuracy.

- Reporting: Prepare daily, monthly, and statutory geological reports regarding production quality, reserves, and exploration progress.
