We are hiring Life Sciences Subject Matter Experts – Biology for a short-term AI Training & Scientific Reasoning Evaluation project across: ?? India

Role: Life Sciences Subject Matter Expert – Biology

Experience: Ph.D. + 3 Years / Master’s + 5 Years of Relevant Experience

Mode: Remote

Engagement: Full-Time – 40 Hours/Week

Start: Immediate

Mandatory Eligibility Criteria

Technical Qualification:

- Strong expertise in at least one Life Sciences / Biological Science discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret scientific experiments, biological data, research findings, figures, sequences, structures, and scientific evidence.
- Strong scientific reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to construct precise, self-contained, and scientifically defensible scientific problems.
- Ability to validate biological claims, calculations, assumptions, and scientific conclusions.
- Ability to identify ambiguity and alternative scientifically valid interpretations.
- Ability to distinguish scientifically defensible answers from questions that are insufficiently constrained.
- Experience with advanced scientific reasoning, experimental interpretation, and research-oriented problem solving.
- Ability to design challenging scientific tasks requiring synthesis and interpretation rather than simple factual recall.
- Ability to develop rigorous expert reference answers explaining the required scientific reasoning.
- Experience evaluating AI/LLM-generated scientific responses is preferred.
- No programming experience is required. This is a non-coding scientific benchmark project.

Educational Qualification:

Mandatory: Ph.D.



+ 3 years of relevant experience OR Master’s + 5 years of relevant experience in Life Sciences.

Preferred: Ph.D., postdoctoral experience, or advanced research experience in Molecular Biology, Genetics & Genomics, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, Microbiology, Immunology, Evolutionary Biology, Ecology, Structural Biology, Biophysics, Developmental Biology, Cancer Biology, Pharmacology, or related Life Sciences disciplines.

Availability :

- Ability to work 40 hours/week with 4+ hours PST overlap.
- Minimum 8 hours/day.
- Ability to work remotely for the duration of the project.
- Immediate availability preferred.
- Ability to collaborate with project reviewers and incorporate feedback.
- Availability according to project requirements and deadlines.

Others:

- Personal laptop/desktop and stable high-speed internet.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work remotely for the duration of the project.
- Strong attention to scientific accuracy, biological validity, documentation, and quality.
- Solid ability to interpret research-oriented scientific information and evidence.
- Ability to evaluate the scientific correctness and defensibility of biological conclusions.
- Ability to identify ambiguity, unsupported assumptions, and alternative scientifically valid interpretations.
- Experience evaluating AI/LLM-generated scientific responses is preferred.




- Ability to maintain high quality and throughput while incorporating reviewer feedback.

What You’ll Work On:

- Design authentic, novel, and challenging Life Sciences problems requiring advanced scientific reasoning.
- Create tasks based on realistic research scenarios, experiments, biological datasets, figures, sequences, structures, and scientific evidence.
- Develop clear scientific questions with well-defined and objectively defensible answers.
- Write rigorous expert reference answers explaining the scientific reasoning required.
- Create tasks requiring synthesis, interpretation, analysis, and scientific judgment rather than simple factual recall.
- Validate biological claims, calculations, assumptions, scientific evidence, and conclusions.
- Identify ambiguity and alternative scientifically valid interpretations.
- Identify questions that are insufficiently constrained or lack objectively defensible answers.
- Analyze experimental results, biological datasets, scientific figures, sequences, structures, and research findings.
- Evaluate whether scientific conclusions are properly supported by the available evidence.
- Create tasks capable of distinguishing frontier AI models based on their scientific reasoning ability.
- Analyze and evaluate AI/LLM-generated scientific responses for scientific accuracy, reasoning quality, and defensibility.
- Ensure outputs are clearly documented and reproducible where applicable.
- Maintain high quality and throughput while incorporating reviewer feedback.
