About Empax Studio Empax Studio is an experience design and engineering studio that brings together architecture, creativity, storytelling and technology. We work across events, weddings, immersive environments, museums, experience centres, exhibitions, theatre, experiential interiors and digital installations. Our work begins with an idea and follows it through the human journey, the space, the interface and the technology required to make it real.
About the role We are looking for a multidisciplinary Visual Communicator who can take complex ideas and make them easy to understand, emotionally engaging and visually compelling. This is not a conventional graphic design role. It sits at the intersection of storytelling, conceptualizing, presentation design, user journeys, UX and UI, motion, content and creative AI.
You should be comfortable moving from a rough brief to a explicit narrative, and from that narrative to a client presentation, journey map, interface, film or AI assisted visual exploration. The right person will combine imagination with structure, solid visual taste with practical thinking, and speed with attention to detail.
What you will do Storytelling and concept development. Understand the brief, audience and intended outcome. Convert research, conversations and scattered inputs into a clear story, communication hierarchy and creative direction.
Presentation design. Build high impact client, pitch, strategy and design development presentations from a blank page. Own the storyline, copy flow, information hierarchy, diagrams, layouts, transitions and final polish.
User journey mapping. Map physical and digital journeys, audience behaviours, emotions, decision points, touchpoints, friction and opportunities. Turn journey thinking into clear visual flows that spatial, creative and technology teams can act upon.
UX and UI design. Create information architecture, user flows, wireframes, prototypes and refined interfaces for digital products and interactive experiences. Work closely with project leads, researchers, designers and developers.
Visual and motion production. Create and refine moodboards, concept visuals, diagrams, layouts, films, reels, explainers,
motion sequences and presentation assets using Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant tools.
Creative AI production. Use AI confidently across research, ideation, image generation, video exploration, copy, storyboarding and creative iteration. Direct the tools with strong prompts and references, then curate, retouch, edit and integrate the output into professional work.
Collaboration and delivery. Work across Empax Studio’s spatial, UX, content, technology and production teams. Maintain clean files, clear naming, disciplined versions and reliable handovers.
What you should be strong at · Visual storytelling and narrative structure
· Creating persuasive, beautifully organised presentations
· Information design, diagrams and visual simplification
· User journeys, behaviour flows and experience mapping
· UX thinking, UI design and interactive prototyping
· Typography, composition, colour and visual hierarchy
· Image making, video editing and basic motion storytelling
· Creative problem solving across physical and digital experiences
· Presenting your work and explaining the thinking behind it
· Receiving feedback, iterating quickly and improving the work without losing its intent
Tools and technical capabilityEssential · Figma and FigJam
· PowerPoint, Keynote or Google Slides at an advanced presentation design level
· Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
· Adobe Premiere Pro or an equivalent professional editing tool
· Strong working proficiency across creative AI tools for text, images and video
Strong advantage · Adobe After Effects and motion graphics
· Adobe InDesign
· Design systems and responsive interface thinking
· Basic 3D or spatial visualisation awareness
· Experience with events, museums, exhibitions, immersive environments or experience centres
Our expectation from creative AI AI proficiency is central to this role. We are not looking for someone who simply generates multiple options. We need a creator who can direct AI with intention and use it as part of a professional creative workflow.
· Translate a creative brief into a visual language, references and structured prompts
· Work across text, image, video, audio and presentation workflows
· Maintain visual consistency across characters, spaces, styles and sequences
· Recognise weak concepts, clichés, visual errors, hallucinations and brand risks
· Retouch, composite, edit and art direct AI output until it is genuinely client ready
· Use AI to increase the quality and speed of thinking, not to replace judgement or originality
What excellent work looks like Clear before clever. The audience understands the idea without needing an explanation.
Narrative before decoration. Every visual decision strengthens the story.
Systems rather than isolated outputs. The work remains consistent across slides, screens, spaces and touchpoints.
Premium finish. Typography, images, pacing, detail and file quality hold up under client scrutiny.
Ownership. You can take an ambiguous brief through exploration, feedback and refinement to an organised final delivery.
Who we are looking for · A curious and observant person who naturally looks for the story behind the brief
· A strong visual thinker with taste, originality and attention to detail
· Someone imaginative but commercially grounded
· A structured thinker who can work comfortably with ambiguity
· A low ego collaborator who can work across different disciplines
· Someone open to critique, experimentation and rapid iteration
· A self driven, organised and dependable professional who owns deadlines and outcomes
Experience and portfolio · One year of relevant experience in visual communication, presentation design, experience design, UX and UI, graphic design or a related multidisciplinary role is preferred.
· A robust portfolio is essential and must demonstrate thinking, process and problem solving, not only finished beauty shots.
· Exceptional portfolios and demonstrated capability may outweigh formal qualifications or years of experience.
How to apply Please share your CV, portfolio and three projects that best demonstrate how you think and create:
· One presentation that shows narrative structure and visual communication
· One journey mapping, UX or UI project
· One AI assisted creative project showing your process from prompt or reference to the finished output
