About the Role

We are looking for a Video Editor who understands both editing and content.

Most of the work will be for social media, especially Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and other vertical formats.

You should be comfortable with skilled video editing software and know how to turn raw footage into clear, engaging content. You should understand hooks, pacing, sound, captions, B-roll and basic motion graphics — and know when to use them.

Since many of our clients and audiences are from Kerala, strong Malayalam and familiarity with Kerala’s cultural context are essential.

This is a remote role, but you must be based in Kerala. Some travel may be required when a project calls for it.

What you will do

- Edit reels, short-form videos, social media ads, interviews, talking-head videos and other digital content.
- Turn raw footage, scripts and briefs into engaging videos.
- Create strong openings and hooks.
- Make decisions on pacing, cuts, B-roll, transitions,



music and sound.
- Add Malayalam and English captions and on-screen text.
- Adapt videos for different platforms, formats and durations.
- Handle basic colour correction and audio clean-up.
- Add simple motion graphics and text animation when needed.
- Work with content, strategy and design teams to develop the right edit.
- Suggest ideas for hooks, formats and treatments.
- Keep up with relevant social media trends.
- Organise project files, versions and exports.
- Take feedback and deliver work on time.

What we are looking for

Editing & software

- 1–3 years of video editing experience, ideally around 3 years.
- Strong working knowledge of professional video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro or similar.
- A portfolio showing strong social media and vertical video work.
- Good understanding of storytelling, pacing, sequencing and audio.
- Comfortable with captions, basic colour correction, audio processing and exports.
- Knowledge of After Effects or other motion graphics software is an advantage.

Content & social media

- Good understanding of hooks and viewer retention.
- Ability to identify strong moments and remove unnecessary content.




- Experience with reels, explainers, testimonials, talking-head videos, product videos or ads.
- Ability to adapt editing style to different brands and audiences.
- Good eye for captions, framing and mobile-first content.
- Interest in understanding why certain content works.

Language & location

- Must be based in Kerala.
- This is a remote position, with occasional travel when required.
- Native-level Malayalam, including colloquial language, humour and cultural references.
- Strong English comprehension and writing skills.
- Comfortable editing both Malayalam and English content.

Working style

- Good attention to detail, especially with subtitles, spelling, audio and exports.
- Able to work independently and take ownership of projects.
- Open to feedback and able to explain creative decisions.
- Good time management and ability to handle multiple assignments.

Qualifications A degree or qualification in film, media, visual communication, animation or a related field is welcome but not mandatory.

Your portfolio and editing skills matter more than your qualification.

Good to have

- Agency or brand-side experience.
- Familiarity with Canva, Photoshop or Illustrator.
- Experience creating multiple versions of ads with different hooks or CTAs.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted editing tools.
- Basic understanding of shooting and framing for social media.
