Vice President – Engineering (Crypto & FinTech)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Vice President – Engineering to lead the technology strategy and engineering function for our crypto and financial technology business.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Web2, backend/full-stack product development, fintech/banking technology, with a practical understanding of Web3, blockchain, cryptocurrency and digital wallets. Should have experience in leading 3-15 membered team.

Key Responsibilities

Define and drive the overall technology strategy, architecture and product roadmap.

Lead the development and scaling of digital wallets, money transfer, cryptocurrency transactions and financial products.

Design secure, scalable and highly available backend, microservices and transaction-processing systems.

Architect and oversee financial ledgers, transaction management and reconciliation systems.

Drive integrations with banks, payment networks, financial institutions and third-party fintech providers through secure APIs.

Establish strong engineering practices around security, scalability, reliability, DevOps, CI/CD and system performance.

Lead and mentor engineering, architecture, DevOps and QA teams.

Work closely with the CEO, Product, Business, Compliance and Operations teams to translate business requirements into technology solutions.

Manage technology budgets, vendors, technical risks and overall technology delivery.

Required Experience & Skills

15+ years of technology/engineering experience with significant leadership experience.

Strong Backend and/or Full-Stack engineering background.

Strong experience with Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React.js and contemporary backend technologies.





Experience with microservices, REST APIs, distributed systems, event-driven architectures and scalable application design.

Strong understanding of banking systems, payment processing, financial transactions, ledgers and reconciliation.

Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL/MySQL/MongoDB, caching, messaging systems and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, DevOps, monitoring and production infrastructure.

Strong understanding of cybersecurity, data protection, authentication, encryption and financial-data security.

Experience building high-availability, transaction-intensive and scalable platforms.

Some practical knowledge of Web3, blockchain, cryptocurrency and digital wallets

Proven ability to lead high-performing engineering teams and work closely with senior business stakeholders.
