About the Role
Marigold Aviation is looking for an experienced Vice President – Finance to build and lead the Group’s financial planning, modelling, reporting, and analytical infrastructure as the business scales across multiple countries, training locations, aircraft fleets, and potential acquisitions.
This is a highly analytical and commercially focused leadership role, with financial modelling, FP&A;, M&A; analysis, capital planning, and Group-level financial reporting at its core.
The successful candidate will work closely with the CFO and senior leadership team to provide financial insights that support growth, investment decisions, acquisitions, fundraising, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Planning & Modelling
- Build and maintain an integrated 5–10 year Group financial model covering revenue, EBITDA, cash flow, capex, aircraft requirements, working capital, and funding requirements.
- Develop school-level, country-level, and Group-level P&Ls; and financial forecasts.
- Develop and monitor key operating and financial unit economics, including:
- Cost per cadet
- Revenue per cadet
- Training cost per student
- Aircraft utilisation
- Flying hours
- Instructor utilisation
- Campus capacity
- Contribution margin
- Develop scenario models for different growth assumptions, including 400, 800+ and ultimately 1,000+ cadets.
- Model airline contracts and their economics over the full contract term.
- Conduct sensitivity analyses covering pricing, utilisation, aircraft costs, hiring, financing, and other key business assumptions.
- Build financial models to support strategic and operational decision-making across the Group.
2. M&A; and Acquisition Modelling
- Build detailed financial and valuation models for prospective flight-school acquisitions.
- Analyse historical financial performance, EBITDA normalisation, and quality of earnings.
- Develop purchase price, debt/equity funding, returns, and transaction structure models.
- Prepare acquisition valuation models and accretion/dilution analyses.
- Develop post-acquisition integration and financial performance models.
- Establish standardised financial modelling and evaluation templates for all prospective acquisitions.
- Support the CFO and leadership team through financial due diligence and transaction evaluation.
3. Fundraising & Investor Support
- Maintain the Group’s master investor financial model.
- Prepare financial information and analysis for equity and debt fundraising.
- Support the CFO in investor presentations, financial diligence, and investor discussions.
- Model dilution, capital requirements, funding scenarios, and alternative financing structures.
- Prepare monthly investor and Board-level financial analysis and reporting.
- Develop financial analysis and supporting materials for strategic financing and capital allocation decisions.
4. FP&A; and Management Reporting
- Own the annual budgeting process and quarterly/monthly forecasting cycles.
- Establish a robust monthly reporting framework covering actuals, budget, forecast, and variance analysis.
- Develop management dashboards covering key financial and operating metrics, including:
- Revenue
- EBITDA
- Cash position
- Cadet enrolment
- Flying hours
- Aircraft utilisation
- Campus capacity
- Completion rates
- Cost per cadet
- Working capital
- Provide management with timely analysis of business performance, trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Partner with operational and business teams to improve financial visibility and accountability.
5. Group Consolidation & Financial Governance
- Consolidate financial performance across Singapore, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, the US, and other operating entities.
- Establish consistent financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, and performance measurement standards across subsidiaries.
- Work closely with local finance teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Coordinate with external auditors and other financial advisors as required.
- Strengthen Group-level financial controls, reporting processes, and governance as the organisation scales.
6. Cash Flow & Capital Planning
- Maintain a rolling 13-week cash-flow forecast across the Group.
- Forecast aircraft, training infrastructure, campus, and other capital expenditure requirements.
- Determine funding requirements associated with business expansion and acquisitions.
- Analyse leasing versus purchasing options for aircraft, facilities, and other significant assets.
- Monitor foreign exchange exposure and intercompany flows.
- Develop cash and capital allocation scenarios to support the Group’s growth plans.
- Provide early visibility to liquidity requirements, funding gaps, and capital deployment priorities.
Key Qualifications & Experience
- 10–15+ years of relevant finance experience, with significant experience in FP&A;, financial modelling, corporate finance, or a similar analytical finance role.
- CA, CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred.
- Experience in investment banking, Big Four transaction advisory, private equity, corporate finance, or a high-growth operating company preferred.
- Strong track record of building and managing sophisticated financial models.
- Exceptional financial modelling skills are a core requirement for this position.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Experience with financial planning, reporting, BI, or analytics platforms would be an advantage.
- Strong experience in building integrated three-statement financial models.
- Hands-on experience with M&A; modelling, valuation, transaction analysis, and financial due diligence.
- Experience working with multi-country businesses and consolidated financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of accounting, cash flow, working capital, corporate finance, and capital allocation.
