We are looking for an experienced Unit Finance Lead to manage the financial operations of a hospital unit. The role will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, revenue cycle management, cash-flow monitoring, compliance, cost control, MIS and financial reporting, while partnering with clinical and administrative teams to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Management & Budgeting
- Prepare and manage the annual budget in coordination with department heads.
- Monitor budget utilization and identify variances.
- Track operating costs, revenues and profitability of service lines.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
2. Billing & Revenue Cycle Management
- Oversee accurate and timely billing for OP, IP and surgical procedures.
- Ensure proper coding, charge capture and reconciliation of bills.
- Monitor insurance claims, approvals, reimbursements and denials.
- Identify opportunities to reduce revenue leakage and improve collections.
3. Accounts & Cash Flow
- Supervise Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities.
- Monitor cash flow and fund allocation.
- Ensure reconciliation of bank statements, patient deposits and cashier transactions.
- Review petty cash, refunds and financial adjustments.
4. Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, statutory regulations and hospital financial policies.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors.
- Implement and maintain appropriate internal financial controls.
5. Cost Control & Financial Analysis
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis for services, consumables and procedures.
- Monitor inventory cost trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Provide financial insights to support management decisions.
6. Team Management & Stakeholder Coordination
- Lead and develop the finance team at the hospital unit.
- Coordinate with clinical, administrative and support functions.
- Resolve billing, patient-related financial and vendor payment issues.
7. MIS & Financial Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly financial MIS.
- Track key financial KPIs such as AR Days, Revenue per Bed and Cost per Patient.
- Develop dashboards and reports for hospital management.
Candidate Profile
Education
- B.Com / M.Com with relevant specialization.
- MBA Finance / CA / ICWA preferred.
Experience
- 4–9 years of relevant finance experience.
- Experience in the hospital/healthcare industry would be relevant to the role's responsibilities.
