Job Brief

We are looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer to lead the design of a digital platform focused on student wellbeing.

This is a high-ownership role. You will take ideas from early research to complete, developer-ready designs. You will work closely with product, content, clinical, and engineering teams.

You will design experiences for children, adolescents, schools, counsellors, and parents . The work requires both strong design skills and care for the needs of young users.

Responsibilities

Product & UX Design

- Lead the full design process from research to launch.
- Conduct user research and create personas and user journeys.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs.
- Turn product needs into simple and easy-to-use experiences.
- Create designs that are transparent, engaging, and suitable for different user groups.

Child & Adolescent Experiences

- Design age-appropriate experiences for children and teenagers.
- Create emotionally safe and engaging user journeys.
- Design simple experiences for:
- Check-ins
- Mood tracking
- Guided activities
- Progress journeys
- Wellbeing assessments
- Consider different developmental stages when designing user experiences.

Dashboards & Data Experiences

- Design clear dashboards for schools, counsellors, and parents.
- Create reports and data-rich interfaces that are easy to understand.




- Present wellbeing indicators, alerts, and AI-driven insights in a clear way.
- Make complex information simple and useful for users.

Design Systems

- Build and maintain a scalable design system for web and mobile.
- Maintain consistency across products and user journeys.
- Create reusable design components and patterns.

Testing & Improvement

- Plan and conduct usability testing with children and adult users.
- Review user feedback and improve designs based on findings.
- Work closely with product teams to test and refine solutions.

Accessibility & Safety

- Include accessibility and inclusive design in the product.
- Consider child safety and privacy in design decisions.
- Design responsibly for sensitive health and education data.
- Work with teams to ensure the product provides a protected user experience.

Developer Collaboration

- Work closely with developers during design handoff.
- Provide transparent design specifications and prototypes.
- Support developers during implementation.
- Review the final product to ensure design quality is maintained.

Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements

- 8–10 years of professional UI/UX design experience.
- Strong portfolio showing both visual design and UX thinking .
- Proven ability to independently take a product from concept to launch.
- Strong expertise in Figma or similar design tools .
- Strong skills in prototyping and design systems.




- Good understanding of:
- Interaction design
- Information architecture
- Usability
- User research
- Wireframing
- High-fidelity UI design
- Experience designing dashboards, reports, analytics views, or other data-rich interfaces.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to explain and support design decisions clearly.

Strongly Preferred

- Experience designing child-focused digital products .
- Experience in mental health, emotional wellness, or social-emotional learning products.
- Experience with child-focused EdTech products, learning apps, interactive content, or gamified experiences.
- Understanding of child psychology, developmental stages, and mental wellness principles.
- Experience designing AI-powered products and presenting AI insights in a clear and responsible way.
- Experience with gamification and playful design.
- Awareness of child safety, privacy, and ethical design standards.
- Genuine interest in student wellbeing and preventive mental health.
