Production Manager – Tread Rubber Manufacturing

ABOUT US

Manna Group is a Kerala-based manufacturer of rubber reclaim and tyre retreading materials, with operations in India and the UAE. Our retreading materials plant at Keezhillam makes precured tread rubber and related products for the retreading industry. We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead the plant's day-to-day operations.

ROLE OVERVIEW The production manager will run all production at the Keezhillam facility. The role covers planning and scheduling, running the shop floor, and meeting targets for output, quality, cost, and safety.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Production Planning & Scheduling

- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on sales orders, stock levels, and machine capacity
- Schedule jobs across extrusion, pressing, sanding, calendering, and sandblasting to get the most out of machines and cut changeover time
- Work with Sales, Stores, and Purchase to make sure raw materials, compounds, and consumables are available on time.
- Track plan vs. actual and adjust schedules to meet delivery commitments

Shop Floor Management

- Oversee day-to-day production across all shifts and processes
- Lead, allocate, and develop supervisors, operators, and shift teams
- Monitor key process parameters (temperature, pressure, cure time, dimensions, weight) to keep output consistent
- Keep cycle times under control, reduce scrap and rework, and improve yield.

Quality, Maintenance & Safety





- Work with QC to make sure products meet specifications and customer requirements
- Coordinate with Maintenance on preventive maintenance and to keep breakdowns to a minimum
- Enforce safety practices, 5S and housekeeping on the shop floor
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality and process problems

Reporting & Improvement

- Maintain production records and track KPIs such as OEE, productivity, scrap percentage, and power and material consumption.
- Report regularly to management on performance, problems, and improvement plans
- Drive cost reduction, process improvement, and lean manufacturing initiatives

REQUIREMENTS

- Degree or diploma in Polymer / Rubber Technology, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- At least 10 years of experience in a production management role
- Tread rubber / retreading materials industry experience strongly preferred (tire or rubber products manufacturing also considered)
- Hands-on knowledge of rubber extrusion, compression molding/pressing, calendering, and finishing
- Strong skills in production planning, scheduling, and capacity management
- Proven ability to lead and motivate large shop-floor teams across multiple shifts
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP B1 preferred) and MS Excel
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, 5S, Kaizen, or lean practices is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Malayalam preferred
