Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced Tool Room Head for an Aluminium Die Casting manufacturing company. The candidate will be responsible for complete Tool Room operations, die development, maintenance, modification, troubleshooting, and tooling improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Manage complete Tool Room operations for aluminium die-casting dies and tooling.

Lead HPDC die development, maintenance, repair and modification.

Coordinate with Design, Production, Quality and NPD teams for new die development.

Review die designs for manufacturability, cooling, ejection and die life.

Manage the complete process from die design → manufacturing → assembly → trial → validation → production.

Troubleshoot die-related issues such as flash, porosity, die sticking and cooling problems.

Ensure preventive maintenance and timely repair of dies.

Select appropriate die materials, inserts, coatings and heat-treatment processes.

Monitor CNC, EDM, Wire Cut, VMC and other Tool Room machining activities.

Drive improvements in die life, tooling cost, quality and development timelines.





Lead and manage the Tool Room team effectively.

Desired Qualifications & Competencies

Qualification

B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering

Relevant Experience

7–10 years, preferably in Aluminium Die Casting / HPDC / Auto Components / Tool & Die industry.

Technical Knowledge

Strong knowledge of Aluminium Die Casting Dies and Tooling.

Good understanding of HPDC process and die construction.

Knowledge of die design, die materials, heat treatment and surface coating.

Knowledge of tool and die development processes.

Understanding of CNC, EDM, Wire Cut, VMC and other Tool Room processes.

Knowledge of die trials, troubleshooting, modifications and validation.

Updated knowledge of latest tooling technologies.

Good understanding of component/aggregate design and working.

Strong team management and problem-solving skills.
