Associate Director - AUM Business Finance **Mumbai (Work from Office)** **This is an Asset Management Business Finance / FP&A; role with AUM domain expertise and data-transformation ownership. It is not a Fund Operations, Middle Office, Fund Accounting, trade-processing, settlement, or reconciliation-only role.** **Position Overview** We are seeking a senior Asset Management Business Finance / FP&A; leader with 10+ years of experience who can answer the core management questions: What is our AUM, why did it change, how does it drive revenue, and how do we create one governed enterprise source for that information? The role owns the business-finance view of AUM across public and private markets, including AUM roll-forward, net flows, market/FX movement, Fee-Earning AUM, management-fee revenue, capital raise/capital lifecycle reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, profitability and executive management reporting. The successful candidate will also lead transformation of AUM and finance reporting from spreadsheet- and tool-based processes into governed, automated, auditable enterprise reporting supported by modern data platforms, master/reference-data governance and certified data products. **Key Responsibilities** **AUM Business Finance & Revenue** + Own end-to-end AUM reporting and monthly/quarterly AUM roll-forward across public and private market investment vehicles. + Explain AUM movement across opening AUM, gross subscriptions/inflows, redemptions/outflows, transfers, distributions, market movement, FX, capital activity and other adjustments through closing AUM. + Own net-flow reporting and attribution by product, strategy, vehicle, client/channel and region; distinguish business flows from market/FX performance. + Calculate, reconcile and explain Fee-Earning AUM and its relationship to reported AUM. + Own Revenue-to-AUM linkage, management-fee revenue analysis, fee-rate/yield analysis, accruals, true-ups and revenue variance commentary. + Support capital raise and alternatives capital-lifecycle reporting, including commitments, subscriptions, calls/drawdowns, distributions and investor activity where applicable. + Produce trusted management, Finance, Distribution, Product and executive AUM/revenue reporting. **FP&A; & Management Reporting** + Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and long-range planning for AUM, net flows,
revenue, expenses and profitability. + Build driver-based forecasts linking AUM, flows, market assumptions, fee rates, product mix and revenue. + Perform actual vs budget / forecast / prior-period variance analysis with clear business commentary and root-cause attribution. + Develop financial models and scenario / sensitivity analysis for AUM, flows, pricing, fee compression, market movements, capital activity and business risks. + Prepare executive management packs and KPI dashboards covering AUM, flows, Fee-Earning AUM, revenue, margins and business performance. + Partner with senior Finance and business leaders on performance reviews, risks, opportunities and forward-looking outlook. **Data Transformation & Enterprise AUM Model** + Lead migration from spreadsheet- and multi-tool AUM/FP&A; reporting to a governed enterprise data platform / Lakehouse and certified reporting layer. + Define the target-state AUM/business-finance data model, operating model, ownership, controls and certification process. + Govern Fund Master, Security Master, Investment Vehicle hierarchy, Client hierarchy, Legal Entity structure, currency and benchmark mappings. + Ensure consistent Investment Vehicle and fund/security codes across upstream and downstream systems. + Integrate ABOR, IBOR, market data, ERP and enterprise data platforms to create a single governed AUM and business-finance source. + Establish data-quality rules, lineage, reconciliation, certification, auditability and clear data ownership. + Automate AUM roll-forward, flow attribution, revenue linkage, forecast and management-reporting workflows using Power BI/Tableau and modern data tooling. **Stakeholder & Transformation Leadership** + Partner closely with Business Finance/FP&A;, Distribution, Product, Investment Operations, Fund Accounting, Data and Technology. + Translate finance requirements into business rules, data definitions, source-to-target mappings,
reporting logic and acceptance criteria. + Lead transformation governance, cross-functional workstreams, UAT, adoption and operating-model change. + Present AUM, flow, revenue and transformation insights to senior leadership and executive stakeholders. **Required Experience & Qualifications** + 10+ years of relevant experience in Asset Management / Investment Management Finance, Business Finance, FP&A; or closely related financial-management roles. + Recent, direct ownership of AUM/business-finance reporting - not only Fund Operations, Middle Office, Fund Administration or Fund Accounting. + Demonstrated ownership of AUM roll-forward, net flows and movement attribution. + Demonstrated experience linking AUM / Fee-Earning AUM to management-fee or advisory revenue. + Strong FP&A; experience across budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial modelling, scenario analysis and management reporting. + Strong understanding of public/private investment vehicles and capital lifecycle; alternatives exposure (Private Equity, Private Credit, Real Estate, Infrastructure) is highly valued. + Experience leading finance-data/reporting transformation, automation or enterprise data initiatives. + Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field; MBA, CA, CFA, CPA or equivalent preferred. **Technical & Functional Skills** + ERP / Finance platforms: SAP, Oracle, Workday or equivalent. + Enterprise data platforms / Lakehouse: Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Azure or AWS preferred. + Data governance, MDM, metadata, lineage, data quality, reconciliation and certified reporting. + Power BI / Tableau; SQL strongly preferred. + Working knowledge of ABOR and IBOR and how accounting/investment data feeds AUM and business-finance reporting. **Key Success Measures** + One certified enterprise AUM number with transparent roll-forward and flow attribution. + Explicit, explainable linkage between AUM / Fee-Earning AUM and revenue. + Improved forecast accuracy and faster, higher-quality management reporting. + Reduced manual spreadsheet dependency and accelerated month-/quarter-end reporting. + Improved data quality, lineage, governance, certification and auditability. + Successful adoption of the target-state AUM Business Finance operating model and reporting platform.
